Thank you so much for this !! This needed to be said because it's so important that people understand that spirituality Is not a substitute for help

I, too, am thriving with complex PTSD BECAUSE I pray and then take my meds and see my nurse practioner every quarter. When folks start shaming medications, it's only because it hits too close to home. I also see this dysfunction heavy in the Black community. We want our young people to be doctors and nurses only for money and status; not to expose and heal our collective mental trauma. *popping corn and getting the drinks ready for part 2*

I was raised Catholic. When I was a kid I remember my mom needing to be on antidepressants for depression. In the '80's (as you know) it was pretty stigmatized. But "the church" frowned upon medicine for mental health. You "take it to God and pray" Luckily my mom took it anyway. And I have followed that lead with my C-PTSD. I no longer follow organized religion either. I prefer "Weird Church"😊

Other points...the Borderline Personality Disorder feature of a "favorite person " and the Twin Flame justification for toxic relationships. Knowing when to stay and when to go without messing up a spiritual connection.

I think the "but im a good person, I cant be a problem" problem comes up A LOT in spiritual spaces. Defining ourselves by a set of rules that says "now we are good" just sets the stage for the mind to compartmentalize.

Amen, amen, amen. As a former clergy person, I am soooooo on board with this conversation. We are not trained, we are not qualified, we often don't have a solid sense of the basics of psychology. And any one who is telling you to pray or manifest something away without directly dealing with it is OVERSTEPPING. I have also had the pleasure of meeting a few people in that dual space. It's awesome, but it is rare. And a psychologist/therapist/psychiatrist absolutely does belong on your whole life team.

Crunches and Spice on tiktok talks about how the "you dont need help, you need god" keeps the power in the church and is a sort of eugenics. They are an amazing creator. Thank you for the medicine and reminder. Accommodating ourselves is the way.

Thank you so so much! Like I said the wisdom you need when you need it. I have been so tired and just had to close everything off because I was at an ultimate low. Friends, family, spiritual community, walking my spiritual path. I’ve felt so guilty and wondering about where that leaves my spiritual journey. I did finally get into therapy and have been pushing myself out of all the funk! Thank you so much for all of this. I didn’t know if my divine team would understand and I would be accepted back in after seen a video saying that if you tap out you were never really tapped in.

As someone who has lost some untreated and suffering loved ones to suicide, this is such an important message. You are a blessing doll. ❤ I have sought therapy for self work in difficult times. I find it useful to have the blessing of that knowledge from time to time. I also have found for myself light in my practice. Light in my art outlet. Light in spending time reconnecting with nature. Light In a good playlist. Balance and good checking in asking what do i need. What wisdom will get me to the light on the other side of this. ❤

Thank you 🙏🙌 I feel seen & acknowledged. I have had this complaint for a while. It's also rampant in the NLP community and is used as another form of abuse by some. The spiritual bypassing is a big trigger. I have C-PTSD, AuDHD, body Dismorphia etc I've just come out of a emotional breakdown and carers burnout (carer to my 4 AuDHD children 1 with a brain injury from birth) I am also an witch, an Emotional and Metaphysical Kinesiologist.

Amazing as always Auntie. In my experience, my guides are not afraid to call me in for ignoring my mental health. Up to and including a spiritual smack in the head and a grounding. It has been really good for me because it defines a clear set of boundaries in my practice as to when coping mechanisms turn into ignoring my problems

I am SO passionate about this topic! My spiritual practice gives me purpose to fight for and has saved me-- but so has my medication! I've developed a phobia of doctors-or really any clinicain, therapist, etc- but when I have to see one, I know i can pray for the strength to be honest with them. Spirituality bolsters the benefits of treatment for me bc it's how i internalize the things I learn in daily life. I also appreciate the message about giving the best of what you have to give in a day. My past expereince growing up mormon put a lot of shame into my relationship with divinity, and I've been working through that as I'm learning to see my practice as a growing relationship with my guides-- they understand my issues, and I need to trust that I won't be punished for being mentally exhausted. I worry that i'm being lazy, but then a couple days later I look around and realize my health was in the pits, so it's awareness i'm working on rn, and fighting off my attachment issues so i don't apply them to my spiritual guides

I have discovered whole new depths to my spirituality, to my relationships with my Council by using it as a way to process some of the hard, hard work I've been doing in an intensive therapy program. I have connected with the term Shadow Work like never before, because I am using my magic to *Supplement* my therapy, and my mental health work. I am beyond convinced EMDR is a form of magic, and after a session, I come home, put on some bilateral stimulation music and do spell work, do shadow work, continue to process after therapy is done, because I am One Being. I am a mind, a spirit, a body. Heal one, I can heal the others, and if I work on them all at once? Profound. (Though, admittedly, I need to do some more work on loving this meat suit I'm using at the moment.) I find your videos at just the right time, and they confirm or reject some notion or some epiphany I've had. I am proud to subscribe to you now, and one of my financial goals is to increase my financial appreciation for you. You are a rarified soul that I am honored to exist with on this mortal plane.

Hey Speech, thank you so much for taking about this! My mental health journey has allowed me to connect to my ancestors ❤ so far, the distinction has been very clear for me. My team is willing to support me with my journey. However, i am the one who has to walk the walk and talk the talk. I am currently up to my elbows in EMDR, and i often talk to spirit about my sessions and my feelings. That in turn gives me insights that i can use to elevate my therapy. And spirit is very supportive of my journey, and they have their ways of letting me know. Especially right after my sessions 🥰

you have helped me so much with my practice. i have so much going on in my mind on top of mental health issues and it's caused me to be lacking in my practices. however, watching your videos always inspires me to do better and also to not be so hard on myself. humans are imperfect, and my spirits understand that. i'm planning to do better on ritual this month. and even if i'm not perfect, i'll get back up again next time and do my best. 💙💜

I had to take this in pieces because this hit right where I live. I had a teacher who claimed to heal spiritually from bipolar when she really should have been on her meds. That same teacher told us, a DID system, we were possessed by a demon, and traumatized child alters in her attempts to exorcise. We've been through some stuff around this for sure! If you have anything to share about mistaking mental health symptoms for possession, or about blaming mental and physical pain on the sufferer, I would love to hear it. It's videos like this that have been a sanity lifeline for me, thank you so much.

I’m so happy this video resonated so deeply with you. I’m very passionate about the subject, and will be addressing some of the things you asked for in future videos. I’ve witnessed far too many people get fucked up by spiritual leaders, who didn’t know what they were doing around mental health & TRAUMA. I want to continue to spark conversation around this, so that all can heal.
