I had the worst experience with astrology . In Kerala ( I don't know rest of India). If you are Born as a hindu and unless you have a gf or bf to marry in right ages, you are ruined. The astrology is so strong and Stinky here that for making a marriage to happen, it takes 4 levels of firewalls to overcome. ALMOST ALL GOOD proposals will go burnt out and couldn't make it. Other religious people living here are either of love or arranged will marry on right ages to their rightly choosen partner and have a good family life. 95-99% astrology has bad or negative effect on the normal life of a hindu person. @@MimiTheHamster i am no expert but from what it looks like to me, it can predict things that have a high probability in your life, like it decides the "luck-factor" what people like to call it for achieving something. you're efforts definitely do matter here which something to be kept in mind. if it's related to your personality/ behaviour or about social attributes, i think astrology does a pretty good job there

Astrology for me is a Divination tool to explore myself - mostly my shadow/ the unconscious part of me, and to heal the trauma (from past life and early life). Btw, it helps me to see “myself” as an objective being - by that I transcend the self. I use Astrology a long time ago, but now, I no longer need it for myself - neither transit chart (which is used for prediction) - when I settle in the present moment and trust in the totality of life. But I still use Astrology to help some of my friends who are too trapped in their psychological process - because via Astrology, they view themselves objectively and not take their “ego” too seriously anymore. In my opinion, that’s the most meaningful way to use these Divination tools - as a guidance, not a prediction. Co-create with the Divine, not to be a slave of fate.

I think a lot of people aren't listening to his message with an open mind. He's saying that astrology as a practice/astrological predictions/the relationship between astrologer and client or audience influence the outcome of certain situations. This is definitely true. The planets he acknowledges have influence- and he also asks the question if you are going to understand what your influence is. By looking too much at the stars and anthropomorphizing their motion and then taking on that anthropomorphization, you're taking away your independent energetic potential. As an intuitive astrologer I don’t use the tool for future predictions although I can see the possibilities. After an intense and mystical experience I was forced into it. Uranus came into Taurus and my Vertex activated. I use Astrology now to help people heal from trauma. I show them the whys and give them tools to let go. I barely make it as I am down to the bare minimum but I was in real estate and did very well. To be pushed into this was divine. I see it in my chart. I have had 3 astrologers practicing and not practicing for financial gains who have never meet or have spoken to me have predicted accurately my past and future. There are 6 Vedangas: Vyakaran,Chhanda,Shiksha,Nirukta,Kalpa and Jyotish. Jyotish are said to be the eyes of the Vedas. Reincarnation theory is very well explained by Jyotish. Respected astrologer K. I think we should balance how much importance we give to your horoscope and to your own efforts. One should not look at horoscope as a rule book and do everything as per that. Astrology and Jyotish is most about the calculations and intuitions which can not be attained just by taking one year course or something like that.... The best analysis can only be analysed by some enlightened souls like Sadhguru and it is not a cup of tea for everything.... There are very very few persons on this planet who knows much about Astrology and Jyotish... You can't negate anything if we not able to understand the things properly.. Even I don't know much about these two subjects but even I have some great experiences and not all can give you such experiences...

On the subject of altering one's life, i used to try and predict the future, used to try to help others who were not listening, and realized that my tarot and astrology studies focus more on how the person is feeling and the shift of energy going into the near future. At this point, to me, it feels like i attract higher conscious people, those who actually have the ability to use the information to change their lives for the better. I'm only a confirmation of what they already experience, and this touched people on a deeper level than just telling them their future. When they cry in front of me, i know for sure I resonate with them. This is enough to show me thatI am a mystic. Of course i can tell the future and everything i have predicted on a small scale of hours to months have come to pass, but since the future is maleable, that's not really my focus in this endeavour. Because of astrology my love is getting separated. I can't marry the person. But we never fought for even small things. We never argue. We understand each other so well. Astrology is like any occult practice, neither good nor bad and it's effectiveness depends entirely on how receptive the person is to it. Anyone in the path of yoga, in total control of the mind, deep in consciousness is free from depending on faith of any kind. Usually the reason people visit an astrologer is when their lives are in turmoil, they are seeking some kind of divine guidance 'cause they cannot figure things out themselves. The main utility of faith is to help you forgive yourself and surrender to the "divine purpose". It's a matter of going from seeing life as a glass half empty to half full. Astrology shifts the blame from yourself to the influence of planets and your past life's karma. If you are incapable of understanding the problems of self hate and guilt, feeling like a victim, then any belief helps you forgive yourself, remove fears and gives you confidence to move on. It doesn't matter, strong faith in God or any occult might help you in some way, but it is limited. It's a damn shame that people who are in the path of yoga, seeking higher concepts of God n consciousness still get deluded by faith. When you are in a process, you must surrender to it and only then will you get anywhere. People go from bhakti to divination 'cause they have not surrendered to their higher self.

I personally follow my horoscope i can tell you the message usually comes to me a day or two in advance.Its a great guide. Sorry Sadhguru! But yes i do agree about predicting the future but its just too much of a coincidence for me...

Astrology is real, but he is correct when he talks about how we know more about someone by looking at them. But this is because every sign, house and planet works like a cube- each has different flavors to it. It’s like Pluto having different shades of gray. Which shade is the correct one, well who knows, but that’s why it’s important for an astrologer to use both her intuition and her knowledge of astrology. If on top of that she uses psychology, bingo. She’s easily one of the top astrologers, because astrology ALONE won’t give you everything and anything. You need your intuition about the person too. Also- Astrology isn’t deterministic. You can change your destiny and your beliefs etc. Most people don’t, they just go with the flow of their own determined traits which is why astrology works. As soon as someone becomes very self aware and is able to change his mentality, attitudes, beliefs, behaviors etc., then astrology can’t easily predict his future. A lot of astrologers give it a bad reputation because they call themselves professionals, but few are those who possess the gift of true astrological knowledge.

Sujal Shreshtha - he isn't writing off astrology, and nor is saying every astrologer is fake. Where most people cannot see the point or work, there is more chance for fraud, but it happens and can happen in places such as allopathic medical practices too. He is telling people to rise above the effect, which a yogi can and many do.

I believe a person should do what he believes is right. It's ok to listen to astrologer but don't follow it blindly. People have got badly hurt bcoz of this study. Trust yourself and your decision making skills.

To me Astrology is a guide. We have free will. Astrology cannot predict the future. It can show our relationship to each other. A snap shot spiritually where have been and where we may go. There are positive and challenges in every aspect. We can let it teach us. Just like life. We are connected to each other and everything. Astrology is an example of that and a reminder that we truly are one. My thoughts.
