It is in the Book of Job where the Devil makes a first appearance - he asks God for permission to test Job's faith. The Hebrew word for 'devil' is 'adversary' or cross examiner. "If God is light, what is darkness? Is it not shadow? Adam chose to eat the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. Duality." Job too was tempted to abandon his faith in God but he chose to remain faithful. We all make our free will choice.
This is the second in a new series of 8 conversations with John and Phil:

#2 The Comfort of Job
#3 The Causal Realm
#4 Why do we suffer?

Wonderful to see you both! Jesus describes hell in no uncertain terms. For Christians there is only His authority. Only Christ throws rubbish into hell - as He explains. There is no evil in Heaven - none will be permitted in His new kingdom of Earth to come. NO devil can hold sway over a Christian who fully knows the Light of Christ. Take it seriously - come to terms - and be set free... ALL are welcome... Peace and joy are eternal. Praise Him - love Him - and God will bless you - forever. 🙂

Wonderful conversation. After John quotes Jesus from Matthew 10, he states that it's "unfashionable in today's approval ratings". Yes...I would say vehemently rejected, but yes unfashionable for sure. Today is filled with so much distraction, distortion, and deception which now that I think about it...seems to be same thing that showed up in the Garden of Eden. You have stoked many ponderings. Much appreciation.

If we be unaware of our enemy, then we are in danger from our enemy. If we are aware of the devil, while we are living in unity with God, then we are prepared against the wiles of the devil who would seek to, again and again, Divide our unity with God. We must remain conscious of the devil and his minions; but we must not fall into the practice of looking for the devil under every rock or on every vinyl album played backwards.

A bit of Stoicism is appropriate and I think we need more of it in these times of exuding a "all will be fine" approach rather than speaking the truth of these biblical warnings as John so well shared it. I was blessed to have parents from the builder's generation and they had me very late in life (youngest of 4 children and all 3 older siblings were issuers and dad wanted a boy and tried one more time). I am eternally grateful for the stoic type views as they are reality of the gospel as well as grace, mercy, and long suffering of God in his enduring patience and yet, the warnings are there for our sake! Well done again Phil and John!

I don't see how the title fits the conversation. Also, Phil's audio is very clear; John's, not so much. Phil, can you fix John's audio so that it is loud and clear enough to hear? My ears are squinting to hear his voice. Also, Satan approaches Job, as he did Jesus in Matthew, not the devil. Thanks.

While Adam and Eve had not yet entered into duality, that old serpent the devil had. He wanted to be the one elevated as the highest being, excepting God, whereas God made man to be the highest being. In psalm eight and hebrews two, it doesn't say that man was made lower than the angels, as if created that way, but both the Hebrew and the Greek say that man was diminished to lower than the angels. so Satan accomplished what he wanted to accomplish, to knock man down a couple levels. But Jesus, who became us, beat the devil and his game and became man exalted to the throne of God, and those who believe in Jesus will follow. Those who leave duality and return back to unity in and through Jesus with God sit in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus, as Ephesians says.

Hello John and Phil. My name is Francisco, and I greet you cordially from Formosa, Argentina. For a couple of years now I have been appreciating John's profound reflections, and I find his conversations with Phil very comforting. I would like to ask you, if you haven't done so before, about what many Christians hold to be "Divine Justice," which here is understood as what man, in the search for justice, does not achieve from his fellow men, he achieves through God. How does John interpret it? From what perspective could Phil approach it? I would be eternally grateful if you ever talk and reflect on this subject. Fraternal greetings from Argentina.

Thank you for your comment Francisco - you have touched on a subject which is very close to John’s understanding of the grace of God and what John refers to as “natural law“. I will hopefully record a further conversation with John on this topic. In the meantime Francisco you may like to consider John‘s new book “Mystic Love“ in which John finds completion in Spirit despite unrequited love in human form. You might call this divine justice of love. Phil

Thank you very much for the suggestion to read and appreciate "Mystic Love", which I will try to access in due time. Best regards to you all!!

Don't we overcomplicate the Bible. If someone who never believed in God led a life of kindness and care towards others by their sheer nature - is this person to be condemned to Hell? In that case, the Devil then resides in everything that is not Christian. The Devil resides in anything that leads a person astray from the Christian faith. This then would include Judaism and Islam, and any one of the wrong branches of the thousands of Christian faiths. If he is not to be condemned to Hell, then all you'd need do to reach heaven would be to treat your fellow man as kindly and you can. Good luck all. If there is a hell, I'll see you there no doubt.

I've struggled with this question in reference to the dogmatic side of any religion ("our way is The Way, everyone else will perish"). For me it's been helpful to follow the spirit, not the letter of the text. There is a story that addresses precisely the example you use. It's the story of the Good Samaritan. As for hell, we are the ones making life hell for ourselves and others through our internal disposition (expressed outwardly in words and deeds). Job's tribulations could've made his life hell but he chose not to stay faithful; many others in his position would've done otherwise. That's why the story inspires and shows the way - pain may not be avoided but suffering is of the mind. I pray to have Job's strength when pain comes along. Blessings to you.

The devil is the ego/mind/"me"... believing in a past & future and separation from the divine creator NOW. God is Love. Separation from God/Presence is hell and only takes place in the "me" mind. Sit in the silence and contemplate this until the mind goes quiet. Christ Consciousness will move through you when you "take no thought." Quiet the mind and surrender to Holy Spirit. You will be taught from within.✨️🕊

Finally the return of high audio quality. Love you john but those conversations with that lady were incredibly annoying lol. Also a bit of theology for that matthew verse brother. He who destroys the soul and body is Christ himself. If you read revelation it says that Satan will be tossed into hell to suffer with us, hes not the torturer in hell. He will however come as the antichrist in the end times. Only God can destroy the soul. Never underestimate the adversary for his temptations yes, however a fear of God is what we should foster. We are not to fear Lucifer, because he will be crushed by Christ. And a bit of a correction for Phil as well. The first appearance of the devil was as the serpent in the garden of eden. Still love you guys though. Time to meditate on Gods word and go to sleep. Haha
