It took me long to say anything... I´ve been around this channel for quite some time. Just wanted to say thank you for all the videos, for the great work. It always helps me to get my own feet back on the ground. There really was a time when I thought I got it all right... but I was never more deceived than that :-) It soothes my soul to hear I am a sinner - may sound awkward to many - but yes, it consoles me to hear this stuff. Too much words... just wanted to say Hello from Germany. Looking forward to any new videos.

I like hearin him talk, it's soft and pleasant. But honestly I admit I don't share this type of deep thinking. It feels very.. "Overthinking" mostly. A lot of words. With more words. And more words. Philosophy doesn't do much for me, but I do admire and respect what this man has done for other who have listened to him speak. Ps: I know how to deep think, as stated above, I've just seen it become overthinking too much.

Hi John and Phil. Thanks so much for for your encouragement to enjoy God's presence. John, often just hearing you makes me want to enjoy some time alone with God. Do you think The Lord's prayer is the best mantra? If we use it, we have Jesus's promise that our heavenly Father will reward us. As we pray, it instructs us to live in the most peaceful way. Also, as we obey Jesus, He takes the weight off us of anything we don't need to carry. By the time we've prayed it we are free to rest in His presence and enjoy life again. Thanks again. Love from John Nicholls

I have been following John for a couple of years now and like many I am drawn to John's 'simple' and humble explanations and philosophy. Not quite related but can anyone help me or has experienced anything similar to the following.... A Ball of Light It has happened to me on two occasions, the first time was about forty years ago when I was awoken from a deep sleep by something, apparently, striking between the eyes with great force. It was so powerful that my head recoiled back into the pillow and I woke up with a start. The second time would have been about twenty years later, some days before the passing of my mother. On this occasion the experience was much greater. Again I was in a deep sleep when I became aware of a ball of light, about the size of a football, hurtling towards me at great speed from far off. The ball of light grew bigger as it approached and was incredibly bright. There was a smell sulfur and a ‘whooshing’ sound as it struck me at high speed between the eyes. Again my head was jerked back by the force and I woke up. It seemed very real.

While a fascinating experience, this sounds like a case of hypnagogic hallucination. Not bad or harmful, but totally normal - it's what happens when we keep dreaming after"waking up". Sometimes also referred to as (or, rather, accompanied by) sleep paralysis, these episodes can be very overwhelming, even frightening. I've had a few that made me scream! They can take the form of visual hallucinations, auditory, a physical sensation or any other combination of sensory experiences. Sometimes also accompanied by hypnic jerks, which it sounds like you had - when falling asleep or waking up, a sensation of sudden movement, often of falling (or being struck and recoiling into the pillow in your case) with a physical twitch or jerk that can suddenly wake us up. Brains are so interesting!

@@warrenmiller1183 _"your strongly held belief regarding imaginary & real "_ That has nothing to do with beliefs of mine. In traditional esoteric wisdom it is the difference between appearances that function in accord with how they appear versus appearances that do not function in accord with how they appear. Both are mere appearances, but that doesn't give them the same status. From the beginning of the pandemic John was never afraid. And so, I stayed... I watched every new upload to KZbin on my little screen. Had he been even a little concerned, or pushed a tiny narrative, I would have never watched another video - for I don't see the point in fear either. I guess I don't really buy into a lot of things these days, so I turn to inner guidance, more than often. But every now and then you find someone who 100% resonates with you, who has the words and the wisdom to say the things you needed to hear in the way you needed to hear it and my God, you cherish every word and moment of silence between them spoken. John, you are the true-true. and i'm so grateful to have found your videos. Someday I hope to be as still and as wise as you but for now, nothing is wrong and nothing is missing. God bless.

If you're not baptized in Orthodox Christian Church and obviously have not a clue about the Orthodox theology, please stop talking nonsense about Hesychasm. That's not meditation and stop confusing people. "They call it something else"?! Profane simplification of something that you really don't understand leads you deeper and deeper in heresy. The mystical tradition of Hesychasm is the profound Christian experience of closest relationship with God Himself, not a repetitive autosuggestible talking to oneself - mantra. To develop a phylosophical system only from personal existential experience is not enough. You should stand on the shoulders of giants a bit. Although personal experience is important, appropriate education is a key.

Yes but when Jesus was being beaten by the whole village, the same people who welcomed him, the same people who celebrated him. Is he to blame for shining light on them? Afraid of them, that he was not. But to get there... And see no evil. That's a serious task. That's a seriously big ego being transcended. May God, the only beauty the only goodness in this darkness, may he help us see no evil. May he help us transcend this everlasting big ego. This black whole in the universe.

There is much wisdom in what you are saying come back to CALM despite my horrible comments born from a vicious inner turmoil and and projected out , justified through some relative disability,to BE , must start with an aknowledgment 9f the i am ,I am tell them Moses Iam that I am BUT it musnt stop here ,to be utterly prsent is to see through it all ,i catch glkmpses on a good day to be present truly present ,perhaps to need ideas like God ,Jesus ,Spirit as crutch till like the greatest we can walk unaided the difficult road, the hardest road is the best thay way we walk in obedience naturally and never torment ourselves. It seems any sense of identification with anything internal whether it appears to have a legitimate basis or not amplifies the suffering ,we justify our negativity then or as in my case if it has an organic basis and cannot be immediately solved then ,it goes on ,loss ,rejection ,pain . Death then may seem to some a blessed release , i never used to be able to empathise with para_- suicide cases ,people trapped in bodies that are no longer working or are in such awefull pain sometimes even physical and mental terrible terrkble sufferring ,so then what ,to calm tl stay here now connected takes phenomenal courage to stay with the thoughts and not repress them or push them away nor imagine fantasy realms perhaps this is asking too much . Listening again, what dies the body mind or rather the mind is annihilated at death so what of Spirit ? Yes but the suffering seems real ,yet it is also product of the body mind . The practicality ,the loss of functionality ,purpose the sense of feeling utterly frustrated yes a whirpool of Toxic negativity from which often there seems no release ,Jesus asked what do you want me to do for you ? I want to be healed Lord .
