By day 2 of TUSC everyone is carrying less than 1/2 the stuff they packed. It's still good to bring everything on the packing list, it lets you test your gear and realize that carrying a 50+# pack through Truth Island isn't sustainable for most folks.

Gaiters were helpful. The best thing I did before hand was pre sliced smoked sausages and made snack kits for each day that stayed in my chest rig. Small packs of almond butter and trail mix were life savers and kept the energy up. LMNT packs in my water made it much more pleasant to drink also. I found that most of the “stuff” I thought I needed never got used. We learned to use our skill sets and make do instead of relying on gadgets.

I attended tusc in June of 21 and the best advice really is to bring what you have. I had a lot of equipment that wasn't perfect going into the class. Throughout the class I learned what I liked and didn't like about what I had, and I got to look at what other students were using and got their feedback during the class. It really helped me prioritize and purchase the right tools when I got back home.

The most reasonable and realistic list of gear you need to take to a survival/tactical training I've ever seen/heard. "That one you have is perfectly fine" - you don't hear that very often. Great way to teach and train people, let them use what they already have, like or can buy inexpensive. Congratulations Adam!

There's also a lesson to people who wanna build a MAG or just a group of friends or neighbors to defend your property and constitutional rights. Wear something that allows everyone to differentiate friends from foes. You chose M81 top. I see why top only, attackers would most probably wear a full uniform or random clothes. Good thinking.

Did a 20 mile 18 hour backpack in the sierras through snow and off trail (snow helped us lose it) across streams with no actual crossing point in a mystery ranch 2 day assault pack. Didn’t even have the waist strap attached. Was able to stay 20lbs lighter than my buddies that were using full size backpacking packs. Use what you have then decide if you need something more, you’d be surprised by the results once you push your equipment to its limits. I still use the pack daily as well, as it fits my laptop and under the seat when flying.

I haven’t taken TUSC (yet🤞🏻), but I was born and spent the first twenty two and three quarter years of my life in that area, here are a few things I would say about doing anything in that part of the country, including something like TUS: 1: The heat. No one seems to associate Arkansas with heat. That is a potentially deadly piece of ignorance. I’ve seen 113 degrees in the shade, 100-110 is not uncommon, with high humidity. 2: Find a way to keep your ass clean. Heat and bad hygiene will make you wish for death. 3: prevent heat rash, whatever you have to do. 4: Watch where you put your hands and feet. There are a lot of venomous snakes and spiders native to that area. Also, fire ants. Watch out for their mounds, you do NOT want to lay down on them. Trust me.

i find out that portioned honey is great - one you get at restaurant with tea those super small packs, grape sugar, nut bar in honey, chocholate, dryed meat, any nut butter, most of these have big amount of calories and does not take much space and are light and i find out that best are 0,5-1 L pet bottles ... u can have one in pocket, carry system, few in small bag few in large bag if you manage to destroy it - nothin happens and if do not need it just crunch it down to have small to none size, fishing line is great as well instead of paracord, smaller lighter, thermarest type mats are sub optimal watter tends to stuck inside those dents

Hey na, first up, I love the Video, thank you very much. I am a food guy, an organic dude but also a very traditional dude. So, I like to give some inspiration to the food prep you can easily do with the people on a class and it is big fun. Ok let’s go, we want to make 3 thinks for the action outside of the comfort Zone. First, Carps (mineral rich) and sugar/preserved vitamins and Fett and proteins. In other words, Cookies, Jam and Pemmican. For the Cookies look for respites with Quinoa, Buck weed and put some Nuts in there too. For the Jam, use the best Fruits, Ingver or stuff you guys like. And the Pemmican only the best meet and Fett you can find (Roadkill? maybe not this time; ) for all this you will find cool respites on KZbin. If you have 2 guys working on each prep you are done in 1 hour and every one has a super field food to take with. Just a thought I hope you like it, DeinStamm.

This is speculation on my part but I'm guessing for the scenario they want you in civilian clothes as you wouldn't be trapsing around the real world in cammo during a grid down/civil disturbance event. Makes you a bit of a target. I don't believe this is an end of the world scenario. The camo is for when you need to be "stealthy" like standing watch/security/ patrolling etc. Everyone in M81 is for team commonality so you can recognize your folks. Why M81? I'm guessing because it is easy to find and affordable. Again, this is all speculation on my part.

How much does the TUSC 3 day course cost? I saw someone from spiritus post "around $1k" on a reddit thread is that accurate? Potentially interested.

My small community / neighborhood has come together over the past few years. It started with the two prepared minded guys who started going around the community right before the World Wide Time Out , 2019 , or first of 20 , passing out flyers about having a meeting about starting a Neighborhood Watch Group and so much more. Because Hell , no one was really sure how things were going to play out. So my wife and I are former military and Civilian Employee , U.S. Army. Wife was a Navy medical / surgical tech, 8 yrs. Then another 19 yrs Civilian ER Nurse.. I worked with 316 Bravo, Manheim, Germany for 3 1/2 years.. And 24 years , Civilian Employee for the Army , GS 12 Base Maintenance , Fort Hood Plus I was a Military Dependent all of my young days.. Bottom line , I think like a Grunt act like a Grunt and probably know more than a 20 year Mudd Rat.. My whole life has been Army , it's all I know and didn't have to join.😂 Anyway , we were the kind of people that they were looking for. And I had spoken to both of these guys off and on before that watch meeting.. So I already picked up the vibes from them and knew what they were all about without them saying anything.. So now it's been almost 4 years and we've got 73 Patriots from 15 to 76 years in age. Trained , Focused , Prepared and Strapped Up at all times.. Along with Wives and Daughters who are just as trained and meaner than Coon in a corner.👍 We've done training like your class on some locally closed/abandoned Government property that a group member was able to purchase back in 2014.. It's where our Range is located and I've been there 7 times , a week each time , for Urban Street , close quarter building , home , industrial / wearhouse training .. We go down there at least once or twice a month for a full day of training.. But being there for 5 to 7 days is great , because it keeps you focused and it also helps with learning to work together as a 2 ,3 8, 10 man team or 5 men , 2 females , a teenager and 2 little ones under 10.. We train like that , because anything can happen and change everything.. And it might happen so fast that you focused on who was closest to you and moved out.. You prepare and train for the things that you don't think about being prepared for.. The it (won't) happen to me kind of stuff.. One member always says : It's better to train and prepare for something that may not happen tomorrow. Than it would be to have something happen tomorrow that I wasn't prepared for today.. I trust everyone involved with the group. Because at some point it's been just myself and that person maybe one more.. But for 24 hours , it's just you and them.. And within that 24 hours , there's going to be 2 , 3 or 4 situations that are going to deliberately happen fast and unexpectedly . And you are going to need whoever you're with to be able to react to the situation with speed , focus and never forgetting that we abandon 🚫 NO ONE .🚫We're together till the last one is sent down range.. But that's how you get to know how they work and they get to know what you will do.. After it's done, you know how to work with each other.. I've gone on enough , I apologize for that.. I just love this stuff and my Country , my follow American Brother's and Sisters.. I don't care about your race , or what side of the Line you're from.. As long as you Love God ,Guns , the opposite Sex and bleed Red , White and Blue.. Then you're alright with me.🦅🇺🇲🦅
