my last two sets of wheels have been the v4 and v1 shape and i was almost thinking of getting some big 58mm dragons that come in the v6 shape and wearing them down to 54mm, but i might have to try these spitfires next. the dragons are hard to beat, so i'm interested in seeing if these wheels can give them a run for their money. i've got spitfire formula fours in 97a on one setup and have been wondering how they'd ride if they were just a little softer...
@bigdeckenergy81196 ай бұрын
@@i-never-look-at-replies-lol so far they are riding pretty well!
@i-never-look-at-replies-lol6 ай бұрын
@@bigdeckenergy8119 i've got most my setup sorted out, but one of the few remaining pockets of madness i've found myself in is how wheels sound. only drawback to dragons is how quiet they roll, so i like the spitfires more for that reason. i'll have to listen more closely on these reviews that are coming out to see if i can really "hear" something i like through all the microphones and youtube audio compression
@jimmyhuang87306 ай бұрын
Hey I have 1 question for you on these: Are they as soft and comfortable ride as Dragons 93A over rough surfaces or slightly rougher? Because you said they are slightly faster on smooth surfaces compare to Dragons so I'm assuming they are a bit harder than Dragons though they are also 93A but Spitfire F4 formula has always been a bit harder than most Powell Peralta wheels..
@bigdeckenergy81196 ай бұрын
I would have to say it’s pretty close to the same. I will be setting up the dragons and testing them out against these over the month so I will have a better answer by then.
@jimmyhuang87306 ай бұрын
@@bigdeckenergy8119Yes please do that test and review and compare them both on rougher surfaces such as ashpalt and anything rougher than that because Dragons 93A are at their best on rougher surfaces such as ashpalt, they are quite fast on asphalt and slide well on rougher surfaces than smooth. Looking forward to that test review. I'm thinking these SFF4 93A are closer in characteristics to X97 than Dragons really..

For that type of wheel I've ridden these things called Rain Skates 92a with a big core....60mm... They ride and slide much harder than a 92 there feel like 95 or 96 is believe it or not but they have a great resilience.... I like the formula for the spitfires.... But I don't ride that tablet shape where the axle nut hangs out of the wheel.... cool video

They flatspot if u do big long powerslides on fairly smooth ground and they get shredded up very easily on rough ground. Nice rebound and feel like a normal wheel just easier on youre feet. 6 out of ten scor. Not good enough to put my name on so maybe Renolds should have given them to me to product test before giving them his seal of approval.
@bigdeckenergy81195 ай бұрын
Even the dragons get chunks out of them on the rough ground. I still haven’t gotten a flatspot but as long as I can ride it out and make it smooth again it should be all good

The first dragons that came out were the slimmest and the second slimmest of their shapes. I believe v1 and v5...?
@bigdeckenergy81196 ай бұрын
I’ll be getting mine out to compare the two so I will know for sure if these are slimmer
@i-never-look-at-replies-lol6 ай бұрын
i have v1 and v4 and the v1 are the most slim of all their shapes with a 'classic' look. v4 are more like conicals. the v6 come in different widths depending on size though, i was almost thinking of getting the v6 in 58mm because i think when looking at all the wheels, the v6 in 58mm was the second slimmest after the v1 in any size. but for some reason the v6 in 56mm are much wider (more like radials?) than when you get them in 58mm. i only know about those wheel shapes though because i was looking for the slimmest dragons and i skate 54mm, so it's either the v1 or get v6 and wear them down. i think there is several more shapes, i just don't know anything about them because i wasn't interested in any.

Support a company that cares to innovate. Would Spit fire have come up with formula 4s without Powell doing it first with STF? -No. Formula 4 was a DIRECT response to Bones STF. Don't buy Spitfire. If Bones goes out of bizness do you think Spitfire will bother to have these new products? Where tf would they get their ideas from then?
