This video we recorded during the air show at the Kristianstad Airport in Sweden, in August 2014. Mounted inside the Hurricane and the Spitfire were two GoPro cameras, and from the ground we filmed with two ordinary video cameras - of which one recorded the audio communication via flight radio.
If you wish to support TeamM:s work in producing aviation videos, well the best way is to purchase some of our Aviation DVDs from our webshop - www.teamm.se.
Enjoy, and don't be afraid to subscribe! ;-)
/Tille, TeamM
Oh, and one more thing! The swastika markings on the airplane have its explanation if you follow this link: apron6.com/2015/03/09/the-swas...
Citation from the web page:
"...Many people responded with disbelief. How could this iconic British plane have nazi markings? Well, it could because they are not nazi markings!
Before WWII the Finnish Air Force used the Swastika as a symbol. At that point the symbol of course did not have the negative meaning that it got during the war. Back then it was used by Swedish count Eric von Rosen and it meant ‘good luck’. The same count donated a plane bearing the markings and so it ended up being used as the Air Force insignia between 1918 en 1945.
And with this misunderstanding out of the way it’s time to truly enjoy this good looking machine."

The part where he says "I can't see you, will just continue" sums up just how difficult it must have been to spot an adversary who didn't want you to see him. Pretty damn scary to be sure. Terrific footage of these iconic planes..not to mention the concentration required of the pilots. Brilliant

Nice to see the hurricane the focus of attention in this video. The spitfire is a beautiful aircraft, is more graceful and performs better but the hurricane was the real defender and work horse over England during the summer of 1940 and got far more kills. Remember the few!

Spitfire is a beautiful and powerful plane for the time, especially through its different versions. Need to remember that if a British plane should symbolize the British defence during the battle of Britain, that it should actually be the Hurricane! The workhorse at an important time, not the best plane in the world but a very outstanding turn fighter and tough as old boots. Great to see them both still running and being cared for with respect. My late Grandfather would have loved to have seen this.

Unfortunately the leather cap meant that pilots who should have survived crash landings often died from head injuries. The hard bone dome had not come into usage but would have saved a lot of lives had it been available and mandatory.

Hi, When I first saw the Hurricane with Nazi markings it was very strange but the Finnish Air Force Swastika had nothing to do with the Nazi Swastika. The Finns used the Swastika long before the Nazi's did. The Finns took their Swastika from the coat of arms of a great 17th century and was initially a personal good luck emblem of a Swedish count, Erik Von Rosen and is dark blue. I bet they stopped using soon after the Nazi took over!

Monster's Inc. And the Hurricane withstood much more punishment than the spit and could be back in combat in a fraction of the time than a spit with like for like damage, also they were adapted to many functions all through the war .. but the spit was just used solely as a fighter , I remember the late Tom Neil saying that for a plane to fly in give me the spitfire, ...but for a plane to fight in give me the Hurricane .
@timhancock6626

The Spitfire remained a front line fighter for the entire second world war as it had development potential. By 1943 the Hurricane was being phased out as it could not be developed further. I flew as a passenger very occasionally with a pilot who had 28 kills in a Hurricane. My father in law's business partner flew Hurricanes in North Africa.

He's hav'n a ball at 11:50, isn't he? I would be too! What a thrill! I consider myself extremely lucky to have had a tiny fraction of something to do with some hands-on help in the restoration to flight status of Hurricane 5667, Canadian Car and Foundry built in 1943. Owner Neal Rose restored the Hurribus and displayed it in the Pearson Air Museum in 1996, where I was responsible for it as the Operations manager. I got to know the airplane from the inside out later in the restoration process. I'm privileged to count the pilot Bob "Hurri" Irvine who flew Fantoms as well, as a friend. I would have flown it too, if he'd let me!!! peace-out..Tc

This is FINISH markings NOT German. Was a little surprised to see the pilots quite long "Head stuck in the instruments (from 13:53 to 14:21) for a minimum of 27 seconds; that's quite a long time if there should be any hazard appearing near your frontal quarter/area. But today there is a lot to keep your eye on in such a classic & complex A/C with modern avionics & flight regulations. Lovely to see & nice to see a Hurricane in a different colour scheme .... even if it seems to create a little confusion!
