Spitfire - The Dream came true

A flight in a twin seat Spitfire, June 2024 from Goodwood Aerodrome honouring my dad, RAFVR 1939 -1945

What a day that was, the volunteers, staff and of course Jimmy my pilot were all so helpful, friendly and accommodating throughout. Never was there the feeling of” hurry up” quite the reverse as nothing seemed to be too much trouble. It’s not a cheap treat but my goodness, it was worth every penny.

Being a Scot, it took me a while to make the decision to spend the money (it's not a cheap day) but my wife of over 50 years convinced me to do it because as she said, spend it whilst your'e still standing rather than leave it to others when your time is up. God bless her, it was the right thing to do as I'm still grinning every time I think about it. If my dad could do it in 1939 I sure a hell could do it too.

Awesome, I got lucky myself twice to fly in the backseat of two different P-51's over the years. It's like opium, you want more as soon as possible. A flight you never forget, congratz sir.👍 Spit is still on the list.

Thank you, jealous of your P51 flights but with the family connection, it had to be a Spit for me first. Maybe after a lottery win?
