One of the best games ever played. It had everything. High stakes, a little cheese, a perfect game. Flash was at his peak and I think a winning record vs Bisu. They could have sent Fantasy because it’s safer for TvT. But they trusted Bisu and sent him out for this and won. I watch it once a year or so just to relive that moment I watched it first 10 years ago.

The fact that you need to pay attention to your units to get more effectiveness out of them means that a player has to choose how to divide his attention. Just the way units behave is infinitely more awesome in BW. These sort of epic micro battles we saw in this final game simply can't exist in SC2 as units do everything on their own. The way Bisu surrounded that marine squad at 7:25, for example, just looks awesome because we know how hard it is to pull that off correctly.

Time capsule! You can see how affected Flash was from this loss. It's obvious now why he became known as the God of SC. He obsessed over it to the point of almost becoming undefeatable - 80% win race vs all 3 races... Insane. Bisu, insanely smart choices and movement. I think the golden era was really really cool - the maps were more unforgiving I think. If only BW had a zooming function for these old school tourneys.

He's quite correct; Flash realized the same thing and pulled his stuff back. He did it a bit later than he should have, however. This is because he, unlike us, could not see the Zealot rush incoming. But even at the rush, I think Flash thought that he would be able to hold the rush off with the few tanks at his natural, which he very well might have but for Bisu's micro. Hence, he pulled his stuff back even later. Yeah, these guys are much better than we ever will be, but they do make mistakes.

Hoejja did play a great game in set6 but Neo ChainReaction is a map for Toss mainly and Bisu is the best ever against Zerg. It wasnt a bad decision to put Flash. Flash wanted to play ace match and nearly won as well. Zealot rush from bisu overturned the match. Bisu admitted he thought he lost and just rushed with many zealots.

Jaedong is at the same pace, he always has a hardcore defensive stance and pokes the enemy to see what he has. Jaedong's micro is the scariest feature that he has, no SC1 Player can compare to his Micro.

WHAT A GAME, Bisu and his multi tasking is unbelievable. Bisu should have played the ace match last season, that was a big mistake by SKT1 coach. Bisu always has big games in the final. He is a big time pro. SKT1 forever~

I just don't think you understand. There's really only a small group that understands the incredible level of difficulty all of these things take to pull off. In SC2 one could argue that the game is much more fast paced in a sense of transition... but the sheer preparation and internal clock needed for SC1 throughout the ENTIRE game is just soo soo far beyond what is required in SC2. Do you have ANY IDEA how hard it is to do things like defiler micro or marine/scv micro like flash did here?

Starcraft 1 is has better graphics than Starcraft 2. No joke. These buildings and terrain have a postmodern atmosphere and fits the lore much better than the plastic-looking SC2 buildings and warcraft 3-ish units.

It is the time, when i was against Flash. He was so fucking good, that every lose was nearly miracle. In those finals Flash lose twice (!) to Fantasy and to Bisu. I was very happy. But now (in sc2) i am fan of Flash.

Well the backdoor into Bisu's main was actually a really good idea. It's just that a couple of things really set back Flash, namely the gas steal for so long as well as the pylon blocks before the probe died. The other thing is that he built only marines and tanks - no vultures. No vultures = no spider mines = really bad vs zealots with speed upgrade, pretty much no defense. Bisu saw that and did pretty much an all in attack since he probably would have a hard time getting rid of that backdoor. The reaver and speedlots sealed the deal at the end.

HalloweenUmi I agree with HalloweenUmi on just how huge a determinant the early game is, and if you watch closely, Flash falls way behind right from the get go, starting with the gas steal. 4:00 into the game and Flash still had zero gas! And then at 8:00 he's only mining from one geyser :-( Then Bisu's early zealot rush forced Flash to desperately invest in lots of marines. I think Flash must have felt that waiting for vultures would have delayed any sort of attack which is why he pushed so quickly with just tanks and marines. Basically, Bisu put Flash on the defensive right from the start, forcing him to resort to a semi-all in tank rine strategy, but by the time Flash pushed out Bisu was already so far ahead in econ and macro. You have to hand it to Flash though; he microed and macroed superbly given his unfavorable circumstances.

Hey this is from 2018 😄 Watched it live back in 07. I remember reading an interview of Flash talking about this game years later. He mentioned that he forgot Bisu’s robotics bay was down that he still kept making tanks, which he admitted was the biggest mistake. That death squad of speedlots should be anticipated.

so tough for flash... the proxy and the information it gave (2 rax) + gas steals delayed mines and lost map control so bisu could take a third before robo AND go reaver first. The 3 gate zealot basically denied flash from being able to hunt the probe or kill the assimilator. Flash was never going to be able to deal with the sheer amount of units bisu could get after the opening disadvantage. Nice game from bisu, really dictated the action but it's hard to see what flash could've done better
