Thank you for this video. Doing gods work my friend. Would you perhaps be able to do a video on the Acustica Ruby 2 some time? Would love to see your analysis!

wow. thank you so much.. I had PQ in my cart with 12 other plugins because they have a sale going on right now and I was going to grab it until I saw that Fabfilter curve. After reading your comments about what this EQ offers I'd rather muscle with Fabfilter and spend that extra on the Manley Massive Passive Collection from UAD. Wouldn't that be a better buy in the sense of what I'm getting?
@GreenLightSound2 жыл бұрын
The UAD Manley is great.
@youowemeapony2 жыл бұрын
Pulsar Massive is also incredible, and easier to use. CPU hog though. UAD has that going for it for sure.

You can get red rock eq302 for free that does the proportional q stuff and is impulse based meaning you get a lot of width like analog eq, i always master with it along with the bettermaker eq.

Another PA one that does what your free stock EQ does. Thanks!

@@alchemistrpm82 Well, were you able to find any mystical non-linearities no one else found or are you going to sell me the "proprietary PA M/S technology" or the amazing and incredible TMT gimmick?

cool , but flip to the other versions, they have different characters

Glad you said the curves are the same as Fabfilter. I had a look at another EQ and it sounds no different to Equality by DMG. I'm confused about what this plugin's selling point is.
@INeedsMoneys2 жыл бұрын
Well, for starters, fabfilter doesn't have TMT. Fabfilter don't have saturation built in. Fabfilter doesn't go to 24k but stops at 20k. Fabfilter doesn't have oversampling built-in, i believe this one has since it's got saturation and latency. There most probably more differences
@GreenLightSound2 жыл бұрын
TMT can be copied by FabFilter, just EQ the L and R channel slightly differently. Cumbersome, but it can be done. The saturation on this is minimal. While the knob says 24K, it drops off dramatically at Nyquist so you need to run your session at 96K or higher to hear any benefit from the extended range of that band. FabFilter actually has a better top end response - all the way to 30K, and no cramping. I'm not sure about the oversampling on the SPL. Try to null them and see how minimal the difference is.
@escalonae2 жыл бұрын
@@INeedsMoneys Do you really believe TMT is something magical? And you do believe in the "oversampling" capacities of PA... And you can hear the 24Khz band...
@INeedsMoneys2 жыл бұрын
@@escalonae i don't believe anything of what you just said and i don't know what you mean by "oversampling" capacities?
@INeedsMoneys2 жыл бұрын
@@GreenLightSound yup, most definitely. I was simply answering the guys question. That's it. I agree with you. Didn't realize fab actually goes to 30. I was just thinking about nulling them. I'mma download the demo of the SPL and null me some curves

Yes, the gui looks nice but it seems it’s not more than a normal eq! :) I will not get this one cause I have already enough of these plugin alliance eq‘s. For me no gamechanger! A gamechanger would be if a company like plugin-alliance would put all their eqs in one plugin and you can set an eq up and then switch to different eqs to check out which sounds best (like for example psp infinistrip).
@GreenLightSound2 жыл бұрын
McDSP has a similar EQ where you can scroll through different models.

Why are you using it in digital mode when it's an analog modelled plugin? The TMT section is one of the biggest selling points.
@GreenLightSound2 жыл бұрын
I don't think it is. The slight variation in L/R channel response is more gimmick than anything else on a plugin like this.
@Fwuzeem2 жыл бұрын
Slight randomisation of parameters shouldn't be a selling point really
@MarcoS-pw9px2 жыл бұрын
It depends.. if you have it on the masterchannel the difference is subtle. If you use this on your tracks it can have a much bigger impact and make tracks more lively! :)but I have to say I don’t use it that often on all my tracks! When I want to use a plugin-alliance plugin it comes to work 😊
@GreenLightSound2 жыл бұрын
@@MarcoS-pw9px I agree. TMT on channel strip plugins makes a lot more sense than it does on a plugin like this.
@Fwuzeem2 жыл бұрын
@@MarcoS-pw9px are you talking about TMT or THC? TMT shouldn't make your tracks sound any more lively at all, but THC will.
