Splatoon 2 Ranked Battle Will Be The End Of Me

Salt alert! Ranked Battles can be pain and misery. The rule of thmb is: What can go wrong, will go wrong. Enjoy this salty adventure into the wilderness of solo queue!
Everyone knows how much pain it can be to carry through their teammates in ranked. I'm trying out something new with more focus on gameplay clips in this video. As a reminder: Do not harrass anyone in this video. Everyone does mistakes and sometimes performs poorly, me included. I even censored some names who really didn't play too well, so take the video with a grain of salt. Thanks for sticking with me guys!

This reminds me of when I first reached S rank. It was fun for while it lasted and I stayed in S for a decent time for a first run, but eventually I dropped back into A+. Okay, well, that was pretty expected, right? No biggie. I'll just push through A+, probably faster this time, and get back into S, right? WRONG. What happened next in A+ was I was in MULTPLE matches where we were absolutely dominating the game, and my team would get really close to getting a knockout win, but we just barely didn't get it. Okay, that's fine, we still have a big lead, right? Wellll...in most of those matches it seems some of my team would just simply stop trying after getting such a huge lead, allowing the other team to push and either get a surprise knockout last minute or win in overtime. I'd check the map and would find a couple of my teammates, after getting our initial massive lead, suddenly in completely different areas of the map not really trying to secure objective at all, seeming to not be paying attention to what was happening, to the point where it was often just me solo-ing the rest of the match (and I play support so only so much I can realistically do single-handed against 4 opponents on objective) or maybe with one other teammate trying, and the whole time I was thinking "Guys!! Just because we have a massive lead doesn't mean the match is basically over yet! Stop letting our guard down! Pay attention to what's actually happening right now! I can't take them all down by myself!" That kind of stuff where people would just stop trying after getting lead happened a fair amount in like B- rank or something, but I had never seen it happen that much in the A ranks before. I had enough consecutive losses that should have been easy wins exactly like that in that single day that I ended up dropping even further down out of A+ to A shortly afterward, as I didn't even reach the OK line before those losses. I just kinda stopped playing for a while after that, that was so frustrating and disheartening.

is a really bad habit from S+ players coming to X rank. I still have this habit; and I lose many games because of it. Now I try to be more strategic BUT if I get pressured by rivals, I tend to just grab the rainmaker. Yeah, I am the reason we lose games.

I'll never make it to rank X. I actually did once but it quickly ended. And I'm like, my teammate don't deserve to be punished by my presence in X to be honest 😂 I'm average S+5 but somedays I absolutely kill it. Others it's just a complete disaster and I play like a C- lol I would die to know the cause of such difference depending on the days (or weeks sometimes lol). Maybe I'm not that a good player and some weeks or days or hours of the day, some better players allow me to win. Some others these good players are in the other team and destroy me haha.
