I absolutely love how vivid the idols are this time. Not saying previous idols weren't, but these guys? They're bursting with SO much individuality yet so much compatibility and I love that, because that's ultimately the most beautiful thing about friendships and I think Nintendo 100% nailed it with these three. Not to mention how that reflects in the song - very distinct cultural sounds from different places in the world but it all blends so well to make probably the most festive and blooming Splatfest song we've ever gotten. Also, it's very fitting thematically sense Splatoon 2 post Octo Expansion, Octolings get to go to the surface and finally live with Inklings in harmony. It's a huge embrace of differences. Props to Nintendo for that sense of continuity!

The angle makes me think that Ubisoft somehow got the rights to put this in Just Dance and this is a leak of it. I think they aren’t gonna change the Splatfest colors based on the teams. The colors of this first one match the idols’ ink color (minus Big Man, it’s his hat) and I don’t think they changed the idols’ whole ink color in 2, just their accent colors (which is what the Ice Cream vs Cake splatfest had its colors based on). I really wanna be wrong but so many graphics are based on the red vs blue vs yellow that I think they’ll do the lame option. We’ll see I guess.

These new idols don’t seem to have any highlights to change. Plus, the highlight colors would’ve been the first splatfest colors if Splatoon 2 means anything. It’s not a question of “could an inkling change their color.” The other option is Nintendo changing their whole pattern regarding idols’ ink colors. (As opposed to Nintendo ceasing to change any colors). They don’t **have** to but Nintendo’s track record doesn’t make me think they go out of their way to do this.

I love it the indigo’s design, she got those bandages that were I believed use my female warriors of Japan and a coat which is a play on a kimono but still seems very custom made and her hair gives that sass to her. Btw this is kinda my bias

I absolutely love the mix between Japanese, Brazilian, Indonesian, and so many other cultures this song sounds/feels like! It all goes so well and Nintendo did a really good job with the amount of diversity that’s in this game

This is the first splatoon where i can say that i love the idols equally (big man does have a special spot tho ❤) like they all have such fun personalities and the way they interact with eachother is nice to see.
