Splatoon Analog Horror: Messy but Fun!

I find it funny that Splatoon got multiple relatively popular analog horror series, despite the game taking place in a time where analog technology is not only so far outdated that the race that invented it is literally extinct, but also because its still being used by Grizzco as seen by the mode's initial reveal trailer, so this could technically be analog horror made in-universe by the inklings and octolings.

Considering the lore it's highly likely analog tech still exist as inklings properly developed very similarly to humans due to those liquid crystals Octolings probably developed a bit differently due to being underground

Heyyy Asada! Just wanna mention that the original creator for the Inkblot Disease is Cuddledot, but the video itself credits them somewhere at the end! From what I know, us sanitized have some sort of resistance to the inkblot, and this inkblot can be weakened by fire and electricity, but not fully killed. Note that it is mentioned that it is heat-resistant.(taken from one of Cuddledot's posts) I knew about this thing even before the video, but when it got recommended to me, I suddenly had an interest in -experimenting- researching more about it!

Splatoon has so much potential to just go horrifically dark as a plot with very little changes required, the bad endings already show this enough because if the heros don't keep winning things get real bleak for all life and even in the current good timeline plenty of dark things are happening off screen. That is why all this Splatoon horror often works so well for me atleast because it isn't so out of place with something you'd see in a sunken scroll.

the story/SP modes really offer a nice way to maybe create something for yourself, exited to see what they have planed in side order, maybe we even get more unsetteling stuff :P

4:06 The ink blot disease gives me a chill in my guts not because it is scary but it is because it has a squid sister with it, which gives me a chill on the first. 8:39 This one is probably the most scary horror I had never seen, it really give a big chill that I wouldn't have a nice sleep in my bed again, after watching this video, but also give us a theory about what's going on too. BTW, those video is what make me scared in my guts.

maybe this is me being a horror wuss but the grizzco missing person one and inkblot disease genuinely make me lose sleep and I haven't even seen the original videos myself. Very effective art, both in the sense of the literal horrifying images and the work it takes to make analog horror work well like those two in particular. The fully transformed Inkblot victim is genuinely terrifying in a "first time watching local50's 'you are on the fastest avilable route' and noticing That Creature" kind of way, and the transformation as the disease progresses has some intense Mandela Catalogue vibes, I almost expected the final form to look like an early Alternate or something, but I of course mean this in a good way. Like if horror is making me think of Mandela Catalogue and Local50 then it's done a good job i think. I'm good enough at reading relex scripts (such as "inkling language" or Unown) to translate some of it but um. Like I said im a wuss and -can't- don't feel like sitting through the videos to do it lol
