We could have had this! Imagine an Inner Agent 4 fight where they swap out every weapon in their arsenal, forcing you to quickly adapt and strategize to their attacks. That would have been incredible! And as a bonus, after defeating them, you free Agent 4 and they become a playable character with their own unique mechanics.

Actually, recently, I've been writing a proposal to a hypothetical add-on to the Side Order story where Agent 4 is the main protagonist that also has a big change in gameplay! @@gamecrashersinkorporated4134 I've thought of the same thing, to be honest. Here's what I had in mind. Fair warning: LOTS of reading ahead, lol. My idea revolves around Agent 4's role as head of security. Marina created an Avatar based on Agent 4 to run security for her, but as we've seen, that avatar didn't do too great a job. So now Agent 4 has to enter a different part of the Memverse to help Agent 8. It'd basically be a "parallel adventure" where 4 is working alongside 8. This story happens _at the same time_ of "Side Order." Agent 4's quest takes place in Memory Access, a place created from the subconscious memories of the Octoling engineers Marina hired to help develop the Memverse. Their fears, desires, and memories of places have taken form in this digital world separate from the Spire of Order. Being a representation of the Octoling engineers' deepest memories and emotions, Memory Access is an altered convergence of both Octo Valley and Octo Canyon, with hubs, levels and challenges from both campaigns with new twists, extra secrets, and tougher challenges. There are 10 large-scale regions called "worlds." Each world is an interconnected labyrinth you progress through by learning abilities, defeating certain enemies, and completing kettle levels. *Story* Marina created an avatar of Agent 4 to help handle security (see her Dev Diary. 7). Unfortunately, due to Overlorder’s tampering, 4’s avatar was corrupted into Parallel Canon, allowing the security breach to occur and pulling in many inklings’ and octolings’ souls to control, and turning the most powerful souls into _Palette Avatars_ (the main bosses of each world). The inklings' and octolings' wills to live and think were tossed aside and kept by the hostile data forms of Octarians, Salmonids and Corrupted Nodes (those strange little things wandering in the Order Sector). The real Agent 4 had an older model sea-cucumber phone on them and thus avoided Overlorder’s capture. They log into the security site and realize everything's been corrupted by an unknown virus and they are locked out of the Order Sector. Unable to contact Marina and realizing their friends are in danger, Agent 4 enters the security system the same way Agent 8 entered the Order Sector (willingly sacrificing a small piece of her soul in the process), and reaches Memory Access. Now they must traverse a labyrinth of levels to free all the lost inkling and octoling soul fragments. To free the souls, they must defeat enemies. As they defeat enemies and find secrets, they collect Data Points which they use to access levels, open passages and shortcuts, and purchase items. As they defeat enemies and bosses, they earn Skill Data which gives them permanent upgrades to their ink tank, health, etc. Then once Agent 4 has completed a world, they must conquer the Palette Avatar. These are bosses based on the Palettes Agent 8 uses to ascend the Spire. Once the Avatar is defeated, Agent 4 will upload all rescued souls from that world to the Control Room. Their Agent 8 can restore them to their right owners. In this way, Agent 4 is helping Agent 8 complete their mission. Finally, if you complete each level 100%, you unlock the Inner Agent 8 boss fight, and Agent 4 will allow Agent 8 to use their own palette. That's the main gist of my idea. I'm not entirely sure. A rhythm-based action game does sound fun and would be a good fit in the Splatoon setting, but I never played something like Hi-Fi Rush. Maybe it would easier to come up with a story if I played... Perhaps memories of some of the many citizens that were forced into the Memverse have to be restored via music or jingles linked to said memories?

Here's how i thought it would go, including unlocking Agent 4: After configuring 4's tablet and defeating Parallel Canon using her tablet you unlock the ability to play as 4, so that 8 can take a break every once in a while. After configuring all the tablets, Marina will tell 8 that 4 wanted to challenge him and that she created a separate floor made just for them, if you accept you'll be taken to the secret fight. It's a best of 4 between 8 and 4, at the start both of you will be assigned random weapons, after each round both of you will super jump to the opposite ends of the arena and switch to another assortment of random weapons. The fight is basically a test of your flexibility and adaptability, but it's also characterized as two friends squaring up for sport rather than a fight against 8's fears.

Concept: agent 4 in her hero outfit and all her hero weapons she has 9 phases Shooter, Blaster, Roller, Brush, Brella, Dualies, Splatling, Slosher, Charger Each phase has its weakness (in which im not listing) Phase 1,2,3 She uses basic weapons shooters rollers and chargers Phase 4,5,6 She uses advanced weapons sloshers splatlings brushes Phase 7,8 she uses brella and blasters Final Phase Uses her main DUALIES Each phase has thier own difficulty Phases 1,2,3- Starters/Easy Phases 4,5,6- Moderate/Normal Phases 7,8- Difficult/Hard Final Phase- WTF IS THIS GAME
