I like the idea of where this game is going but in all honesty I can't say that the time constraints is a good thing. This is a thinking man's game and the idea of pressuring to make decisions runs contrary to the idea of thinking which takes times to consider all options and finding the optimal solution or a solution at all really. If not removed directly I'd like for there to be an option to disable the timer and the day skips only when the player manually does so.
@matthewbutner869613 күн бұрын
I also really dislike the timer. It doesn't seem to add anything to the gameplay, especially since you can pause it at any time. It is kind of strange though that you cannot see the tooltips if the game is paused.

It's because the pause is only really if you need to take a bathroom break. The game is all about the intense situation your in, unable to return to the surface with time being what your up against. Putting on breaks to a game like this might break that kind of immersion. I do hope they add an option like disabling the timer and having a slower one to the game to bring in more players who find the time constraints not fun.

I realize that extraction industries tend not to be a hotbed of occupational safety and health; but those radiation numbers are looking a bit spicy. NRC regulations are generally viewed as on the cautious side; but the Subpart D limit for members of the public is 1mSv/year from licensed operations; and the limit for workers is 50mSv/year. Here, eating more than that per hour is just cruisin' and apparently doesn't start to become a problem until over 4 times that per hour. Could be truth in television; you supposedly get 'mild clinical symptoms in some' at 1 Sv acute dose, which sounds like return to office material; 50% mortality, absent supportive care, at 3 Sv; but only on a 60 day timeline; though I don't think you'd get much drilling done once you get closer to 10 Sv "gastrointestinal syndrome; marrow ablation"; and anyone who is still going at "desquamation" gets to be worker of the month for as long as they last. I sure hope they are paying well.
@КОМБИНАТ-т1ъ2 күн бұрын
Yeah, as a nuclear research worker who works with neutron sources I never receive over 10 millisieverts per year. Dozens mSv/h are nasty rates that are present only in "unmanned" reactor complex compartments where substances that are directly irradiated by core are present (like coolant water or core mechanical manipulators) , not even taking serious 200-ish mSv/h

Nobody should be using prescription sleeping pills. I used to have significant sleep problems. I would lay in bed for five or six hours trying to fall asleep, then I would manage to sleep for just a couple of hours before I had to wake up. I did this for months (maybe years?) and it was awful... but at the end of the day it was really a result of my lifestyle. I could have changed things in my life and solved the problem, but for whatever reason I neglected to do so. If you wake up at like 6:00am, don't drink coffee after noon, and get some exercise during the day, you will sleep.

@@6663000 My girlfriend was overworked and stressed in 2023 which resulted in a lack of sleep, which led to more stress and even less sleep. The doctor refused to give her sleeping pills and told her to install a relaxation app on her phone. She did that until she started having hallucinations and suffered from a full on psychosis within just a couple hours. At that point she ran off on an incredibly hot day and was found by the police being severly hydrated. She had to go into a mental hospital and was in solitary confinement for 10 days, with 4 more weeks of mental ward after that. She lost her job and is now (after almost 14 months) somewhat back to normal again, sleeping pills might've saved us a lot of pain, she almost died because her lack of seep wasn't taken seriously.
