Splatt is great. His channel concept is excellent for keeping up and broadening your horizons. I think of him as a spiritual successor to Total Biscuit, but I think he needs a cool guitar riff intro to complete the vibe.

Played it for 20 hours or so on, imo the early to mid game is where most of the fun will be had. The survival aspect, crafting, cooking, trading all are well meaningful before u build up ur first city. Encounters actually mean something and u could still get caught and fried cuz u havent crafted traverse parts and have the misfortune of engaging humans with guns when ur crew is too tired or drunk. Sadly late game after u build ur city, it all becomes a sort of "clean up job". U barely have any threat of death after u gear up ur crew, bar quests become redundant in terms of the rewards they give since u make more cooking high quality food and selling it and have to keep up with increased fuel consumption. Yes this is also all on salary mode, which without it makes the above mentioned ten times worse. But overall decent experience for a niche game and if it interests u pick it up since its like the cost of one meal or less.

They definitely have to update the late game for longevity reasons.

The biggest downfall for these type of games is the late game. Like yeah, a game that has no ending will likely be left behind eventually once you run out of things to do, but that doesn't mean you can't improve the late game engagement

The artist does not appear to have understood that the cab rotates separately from the trailer. They are not connected, so the cab needs its own rear wheels. All they really need to do is move the wheels currently shown under the front of the trailer forward, so they're under the rear part of the cab, and it'd be fine. It would be an 18-wheeler if it used dual wheels at each location except the front ones.

Dude, I noticed the same thing. Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but once you notice it, you can't ignore it & it does begin to become somewhat of a bother/ counterproductive to immersion purposes.

Spent a lot of time on highways so this is really bugging me. Surprised it made it through every stage of development. Probably indicates devs from a country without a lot of private car use compared to the US.

I think it's just a really long cab, with the trailer sitting on top of the cab's rear wheels. Granted it does look odd but I think we can allow the dev some creative license here. This is a game where zombies exist so we can probably suspend our disbelief

I got this game recently because it sounds incredible and for the price it’s a huuuuge steal. But honestly was a bit overwhelmed (yet excited still) with getting into it. Thank you for this video! This kind of gives me an idea of how to go about things and just the general mindset to have, so now I can get into it easier!

Games like this always remind me of Autoduel that I used to play on my Apple iie back in the mid-late 80s. I had soooooo much fun with that. I would love to see that game remade today with a low bit graphic style. It was so much fun building up your car and going from city to city battling in arenas, as well as fighting in the wilds between cities.

It totes is an 18 wheeler. The 4 rear axles have 4 wheels on each axle, 2 per side. So 2 wheels on the front and 16 in back.

This is such a unique game. If someone made a game like this with more interesting combat and made it more immersive (like the existing truck simulators, but driving around a fantasy world) I would be super excited. I think I'm one of the rare players that wants a really good trading / caravan game but also wants to have fun engaging combat, idk it seems like most of these games are almost 100% just trading and really downplay the combat if it exists at all, like This Merchant Life.

You gave me a slight heart attack when I first glimpsed your thumbnail title because I originally thought you were giving a review to that atrocious game called the Dustborn that just came out not too long ago 😅 I watched Kevduit play it, & by god is it horrendously bad... like, really bad. Your truck won't heat up as much in rain, and you can collect waste water during rain

@@paulschumacher4308 Welcome. There's an upgrade you can add to your truck to make some of that waste water into drinkable water. I just can't remember what it's called, but you should be able to find it on things you can craft for your truck.

probably time to check this one again, got bummed last time after killing all bosses in the infection area in the easiest difficulty but nothing happened, its still the same lvl on all areas and didnt decrease, and all 6 characters I have just keep juggling partners every other day and keeps hating one another.

After watching movies like The New Barbarians, The Exterminators of the Year 3000, 2019: After the Fall of New York and the Mad Max movies in my teens, i had the urge for a game like this. I started with Roadwar 2000 on my Amiga, went through all the Fallout games and naturally the Mad Max game ( and Rage 1 and 2 ). That said, this might be a game i will get but not the one i really want. This game offer some, but i also wish to put visable protection and crews on my caravan of cars. I want to control and build a HQ and a city. Clear buildings and defend my caravan with X-com style fighting. I want the option to hire people, and also a social aspect where people can be friends or enemies. Main goal of the "dream game" take control of enough cities, to start and rule a nation. With all the failed AAA games of 2024 - why are none of the big studios make this ? Are they allergic to money ?
