Hey dev here! Thanks for coming back to the game again, pretty much everything you mentioned is accurate, a lot of time was spent bringing back end systems up to a higher standard in order to make long term work easier to do, also focusing on cutting out synty assets, I would say its maybe a 60-40 split now between custom to synty, that work was completed around 2 months ago so since then new content and polish has been the goal, still some jank to work through but I am on it! Thanks again for the coverage and honest feedback much appreciated!

@@bawilson999store bought assets have an understandably bad rep for the amount of games that are literally thrown together in 10 minutes with no intention of making an actual game but instead just to make some sales then disappear, the problem these days though is that it makes it hard for genuine devs to use these assets as they were intended. In my case now most of the Synty assets have been replaced however even in these comments I have seen people calling it an asset flip even because of the now relatively few Synty assets left. It’s certainly frustrating at times but you also can’t really complain because most of the people saying this are people who most likely got burned many times before from actual asset flips.

I can 100% recommend this game to anybody who is thinking about it. I've logged about 40 hours into it, and it's very promising. Game is fun, dev is super active and responsive, a huge update just came out (part 1, with another part soon) and he's got big plans for the game. Especially with it on sale, this is absolutely worth $5.

As somebody familiar with firearms, you aren't wrong for wanting louder guns with suppressors. Most firearms even when suppressed are over 120 decibels meaning they can cause hearing damage even with a suppressor.

Also, most people would probably be shocked about how loud an actual, unsurpressed gun shot is. Hollywood action scenes of heroes casually talking during a shooting got a very wrong impression into people's heads lol.

Every little bit helps. Stacking suppression with ear protection goes a long way to preserve your hearing. Shooting outside helps a lot too. I know you almost certainly already know this; I'm replying for anyone seeing your comment and wanting or needing to know more.

@@rorywilkins4161 Appreciate the follow up comment. It really is good information for those that are maybe new to firearms as a hobby or who's only experience is Hollywood. It's why I'm a huge advocate for legalizing suppressors. They don't make a gun shot nearly as quiet as Hollywood likes to pretend. Still very audible. A combination of hearing protection and suppressor really is necessary to protect your hearing health, especially at an indoor range.

If we wanted realistic then I would also want actual gun magazines and packing. The convenience of just shooting and reloading simply ignores the prep work. All shooters are guilty of this and I've never actually found a game where the player spends some sort of time prepping their mags.

Fun fact Splat. 380 ACP is 9mm. It's just 9mm Kurtz. Or 9mm short. It's a lower power variant to the 9mm Luger. Less powder, less recoil, etc. Same era as like .32 ACP and a bunch of weird little calibers

Splat, that SMG you picked up off the bandit at the camp (shadow of the mountain part) is an MP7. The 9mm you're thinking of is the MP9, the MP7 fires proprietary 4.6x30mm ammo. Don't ask me why the MP7 is newer than the higher-numbered MP9 (though they're not made by the same manufacturer so that might be part of it). Also not entirely sure why the P90 (5.7x28mm) and MP7 (4.6x30mm) both fire "generic 9mm" (which is probably 9x19mm NATO/Parabellum/Luger/whatever you feel like calling it). Could be oversight, could just be simplification for gameplay fluidity. Just kinda surprising to see in a game this heavily inspired by STALKER, seems like the kind of detail the dev would care about.

Very few games care about 5.7 as it's only used by 2 guns far as I know And very few games breakdown the differences in calibers of similar sizes such as variants of 7.62 so I I'm not surprised or upset about it in modt games as most games aren't ARMA or GAMMA

So ,this game has a lot of almost identical models which are in another game called "surroundead",I guess they are bought and used straight from developer shop.Well ,I do suggest dev do a little alteration work so two games won't look too familiar.

Every menu is open at the same time for me: inventory, pause menu, tutorial, then the screen goes black and the compass looks blurry with all the POI markers burnt into the screen overlapping each other. I was open minded at first about these games that use asset packs, I don't think there's anything wrong with focusing on the game mechanisms themselves and relying on other artsits for the visuals - but now I see them as an indicator that the dev lacks some fundamental programming knowledge. I know that's unfair, because the two things shouldn't be related at all, and it's more likely unfamiliarity with the game engine itself, or how background engine processes are interfering with the functions. I don't post negative reviews on steam, and I 'liked' this video because I hope others have a better experience than I am having with it. I know it's early access. I just hope for more quality assurance when products are sold at any stage of development.

I just started playing this recently, and every quest I do is bugged in some way or another... And I've played for hours and done multiple quests and killed plenty of zombies and bandits, but I've not leveled up once yet? Maybe that's not a bug, but it feels like it at this point. a few hours of gameplay should be getting me at least 1 level by now.

Casual STALKER GAMMA reference. What a chad. Thankfully, once you get the game installed and running the first time (properly) there's very little actual upkeep to do after that provided you don't want to add any additional mods to the pack. Save for things like guns for the most part. Totally unrelated but I recently just started modding for it myself. Made two automatic .357 weapons for the late game. Had a lot of help from the modders in the GAMMA discord, they're pretty cool people. That all said, this game looks pretty dank. I might have to give it a try. Lots of time in STALKER myself, across the entire franchise, as well as plenty of the mods across the years. Always nice to see more games in the same spirit, like Into The Radius on VR. I also wanna point out the fact that I'm pretty sure the shadow on your character has a funky running pose directly as a reference to how the player looked in STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl when you ran around without a weapon out. Arms by your sides all stiff. xD

There's only a few common reasons that a video might get pulled by Splat. It wasn't going to meet the invisible quota set by YT and was therefore going to nerf all recommendations for his channel for at least a week; There's something he got factually wrong in the video that could well impact sales for the game in question; He accidentally put the video up before the moratorium on showing it expired (Oops. Very rare!); Much rarer is stuff like someone pulled a DMCA on it; There is an epic shitshow overwhelming the comments that got so nasty he pulled it 'cause it's not as if devs don't already cop an excess of hate as it is

Edit: Nope, I was wrong! 380 ACP is literally a shortened 9mm case. So pretty trivial to make a firearm that will fire both.

No, no it's not. The 9mm Ultra is based on the 9mmP, but the .380ACP is really an improved .38 ACP designed for pocket pistols. It retains the straight wall case (9mmP is tapered), but is truly rimless and headspaces on the case mouth. If your chamber dimensions are sloppy enough, you can fire about anything (Astra 400), but that doesn't mean it's designed to do so or even a good idea.

nah, the GAMMA patcher is pretty painless, especially after you've set it up once. It _does_ take a long time. better not be in a hurry, it might take a few hours. but it's almost completely passive after a little initial setup. (joke was still funny though) you want to talk about pain, let's discuss skyrim modlists. now _that_ is some serious misery.

Hey, love your content, but this game looks horrible! The A.I. is oblivious, the movement and combat is ugly, slow and, frankly, boring. The enemy models are boring and samey, and I guess they were trying for a retro-style thing? I.e. it's ugly as hell...Thanks for the warning!

I had this dream once, where the durability mechanic in games was somewhat realistic, and was just a simulation element you kind of had to keep an eye on and occasionally deal with, and not some re tar ded boat anchor around your neck whose sole purpose was constantly interrupt your fun. Y'know Splat, if you make more of an effort to keep your cover on your left instead of right, you present a smaller target to enemies. Maybe take fewer hits that way.

It needs vaulting and animations for vaulting. Pogo is far too oldschool even for a low poly title like this. Also downed enemies that were shooting at you two seconds ago should never have empty inventories. I'd also like to see magazine management a la DayZ.
