great! could you explain the holographic bubble multiverse theory to me? ... ...oh, you meant questions about the game. ... nvm.
@jankragelj10 ай бұрын
@@vforwombat9915it's pretty easy, the theory posits that the universe is a gravitationally stabilized two dimensional bubble contained in a spherical plasmatic double layer. Everything that happens in the universe, happens on the inside of the 3d sphere that someone is supplying with electromagnetic energy from its center. This energy is then transmitted in the shape of a toroidal projection field. The toroidal field, coupled with the inner plasmatic layer of negative potentitial is what simulates the third dimension. So, the universe is an electromagnetic modulance layer induced on the inside of a plasmatic bubble stimulated by a toroidal electromagnetic field of an unknown origin.

12 pence (which are d, not p, OBVIOUSLY) to the shilling, 20 shillings to the £, (or 144 pence). Then you have a guinea, which is £1 and 1s. Pre-decimal currency was devised by people who were really, really high.

Thanks for the heads-up. Didn't know you were a minotaur fan. Here are a couple good reads to check out: "Day of the Minotaur" Thomas Burnett Swann. In a classical Greek setting, forest folk prepare to defend their homes. "Ashes of the Sun" Hanovi Braddock. In the world of "Magic: The Gathering", Human, Minotaur, and Goblin cultures intersect. The dialog is well enough written that in some scenes you can tell who is talking by vocabulary use and pacing alone. OT 1: Traditional British currency: 12 pence = 1 shilling 20 shillings = 1 pound OT 2: "A Dictionary of Victorian Slang, Cant, and Vulgar Words: From the Underworld and Elsewhere" by John Camden Hotten and Florian Lütz. Interesting read, and a good reference if creating period dialog.

I'm put off by how many parallels exist between this and Disco Elysium, which has some very big shoes to fill and a set of player expectations set in its wake... but I'm still curious enough to see where they go with this, hopefully with D.E. being a familiar jumping off point versus the near sole inspiration. But maybe this is just showing my lack of experience with other games in this genre.
@CrazyxEnigma10 ай бұрын
DE itself takes a lot of cues from Planescape Torment which came out back in 1999. For a long long time it was a singular experience with no other game like it. Until it got a spiritual sequel Torment Tides of Numenera in 2015. It wasn't seen in as good a light and a lot of people felt it did too little differently not quite derivative but close, haven't played it myself though that's just what I've heard about it. Disco Elysium while hitting similar notes also very much did its own thing. Time will tell whether this is like Torment ToN or DE when it comes to how people feel about it.

Card based to an extent...so not my thing, but one that thing that REALLY grinds my gears is when the game adds waypoints/indicators to where things are. The whole point of an RPG is to roleplay a character against a thrilling scenario...not be led by the hand from item to item, from point to point. Sorry, the immersive did a Lemmings and jumped into a dumpster fire for me on this one. Shame too, the graphical style of the HUD drew me in at first...
