ANYWAY. This song had me shook since I first listened to it so naturally I had to cover it. It's not a collaboration like Circles (which reached 1M on the original upload recently congrats babe???) but it still turned out bomb I think! I pitched it down so I could sing it more uh... s̶e̶x̶y̶ mature than I usually sound. Did it work? 😘
Thank you so much to Ian for mixing this for me!! Fun fact: this went through about 25 revisions from start to finish. I know, I'm super fussy. But in the end it turned out fantastic!! I really love this song, there are so many stories that go behind it. I imagine there's a guy that's used to manipulating his girlfriends, controlling them, using them for money, ect. Then he starts dating this girl, thinking her an easy target, and they get sort of close. One day, he tries to pull his usual stuff on her, and soon realizes his mistake. She turns everything back on him tenfold - instead of just manipulating him and casting him aside, she toys with him, and seriously messes with his head (if this was a story perhaps one version could be where she actually kills and tortures people.) He tries to break up with her after realizing, but is unable to for one reason or another.
