Figured out an easy way of remembering what Nick said @3:50 create a regular chord then take the root and the 5th and lower them an octave then take the root and raise it an octave this is for the e chord for the C chord he took the root and the 3rd and raised them up an octave

Most of these guitar plugins already have a chord feature. So why would one want to go manually and create those guitar shapes in midi?

That’s a good point. I think being able to manually create chord shapes might be useful on certain plugins like Omnisphere / Nexus (each has a wide variety of guitar sounds). But if you are using a plugin with chord feature I think that’s a great approach to ensure accurate voicings. In the end in music all rules are meant to be broken 🤯
