Splicers were done really well. They pretty much act as the main primary enemies in Bioshock and they were executed well. I think the best part is their dialogue, and how there were so much variety in their dialogue. It literally felt like each splicer was a different individual being, and had their own life story. Adding this many dialogue really has an impact on the depth of the enemies. It's comparable to say something like Borderlands's psychos, and how they are full of personality, except the Splicers have more individuality for each one you come across.

Ah Bioshock, a wonderful F U to Ayn Rand and her book Atlas Shrugged. I liked how bioshock 2 went to the extreme opposite and showed the scenario would pretty much be the same, in short, society needs balance between the selfish and the selfless to function.

Broken Eyes and what is atlas shrugged?
@brokeneyes6615
@brokeneyes6615 6 жыл бұрын
It’s been a few years since I played BioShock two so I can’t recall the name of the main villain, but she was basically a foil to Andrew Ryan. She believed people had to help each other to the point that they had to be willing to sacrifice themselves for the “greater good” of the community, in an ironic twist that made them just as bad as Andrew Ryan even to the point they pretty much did the same thing to the little sisters. In BioShock to you play as a big daddy trying to re-connect with his little sister. You probably have more humanity than the typical big daddy and as a result of the actions you choose to take, you ultimately teach your little sister/daughter how to act in the final scene (she can you choose to kill or save her mother who was the and Ryan character of the game). Your character ultimately sacrifices himself BUT NOT because of the greater good but because of the love/bond you have with your little sister/daughter. Atlas shrugged is a POS book that espouses basicly the exact crap Andrew Ryan said in bioshock 1 (if I recall correctly, one of the creators of BioShock who has a literary masters degree said that Andrew Ryan IS Ayn Rand). The premise of the book if that the rich elite, tired of the self entitlement (Andrew Ryan referred to them as parasites in the game) decides to retreat to a canyon city taking their wealth anf inventions with them to let humanity suffer without them. It’s a gross oversimplification but I would not encourage reading the book unless you can handle the pompous and self importance attitude of the author. In fact, if you still have a game, just go back and play through and listen to all the cassettes that you fine throughout, assuming that there isn’t a video that has all them already collected somewhere on KZbin. The things they were talking about, such as knowing the addictive nature of Adam was ultimately going to doom the user from the start but ignoring it for the sake of profits is a perfect example (choosing money over the morality of selling a dangerous product). There’s a lot of social, ethical and political commentary in the bioshock games that can be overlooked due to how it’s in there (again the audio tapes) but in terms of comparing a “utopian” society to reality the games did an excellent job in showing that often vision falls short of the reality of human nature.

The Houdini spliced doesn't teleport, it turns invisible. The true teleportation plasmid is seen in bioshock 2 and is used by delta for a very short time, as Gilbert Alexander explained in a Accu-Vox about how the teleportation plasmid is unstable. And in the game when the splicer is invisible you can see them running in the water in flooded areas and puddles.

Only recently finished the complete Bioshock series for the first time and it almost made me cry for I'll probably never play such an incredible and amazing series again. The games kept me fascinated throughout the whole story. That mixed with the unnerving encounters with weird-looking hostiles and such made this one helluva fps :D (I'll definitely replay this game many times :P )

This is one of the very few masterpieces in the form of video games that has ever been created. This story could have easily been made into a fantastic movie, an$ I still believe that the opportunity for that to happen is still on the table; however it needs to be made relatively soon as people are getting older and their memory of playing such a great game is constantly moving away from being in the forefront of their brains. Th3 story is extremely unique and different 5han anything we have ever seen before. The fact that it is so unique and had never had its story told until now means that Hollywood needs to get this made into a movie right away! They are always looking for something new in movies that has never been done already and this story meets and/or exceeds those requirements across the board...yet nothing has been done about it at this already late time. The game is a solid 8.5/10 game meaning that it’s necessary that you must play it. Now only if they sold the rights for Bioshock to be made into a movie...

Hey here is a video suggestion it is something from a game that is from the PS1 era. The game is Parasite Eve and the affliction is Mitochondria. Now you may think nothing of that name but the game is centered around it and how it affects your character Aya Brea, The villain Eve, and the various other animals caught up in this event. If you have never heard of it I wouldn't blame you not many places talk about it but it is pretty fun and the first game doesn't even have tank controls.
