Philodendrons are great as indoors plants. The Split leaf and also the Bipin Atom do really well indoors.

Always a pleasure. Initially I really was unsure until I divided my daughter's plant. Then when it took off I got encouraged. Its messy but you can also open it up and propagate the offsets which grow on the side of the mother plant. Happy gardening.

Alice,My Mom & I inherited a Phylodenrum Elephant Ear that was allowed to grow out of control it now has 6 Adult plants in a 5 gallon pot & I was wondering if it would harm it if each individual plant was separated & repotted?

Hi James, as it is getting warmer its the perfect time to divide. When dividing remove the blemished or rotten areas on the tuber and for propagation ensure that the tuber has some rooting or a sprout to give it an easy start.

Alice, There were a total of 8 Adult plants however 2 sets of them weren't showing any signs of separation from each other & My Mom was concerned about cutting the root base that is between them due to worrying about it being too much for them, each Adult plant had anywhere from 1-4 sprouting pups.. the plant had been in the 5 gallon pot for 6 years.

How do you get a selloum to branch. Mine is just growing straight up on a trunk, like a palm tree

Hi sorry for late response. In order to get it to branch try cutting the top of the branch just above the node. Happy gardening.

@@redsoilgardener maybe I just don’t understand what a node is. Mine has just one trunk, it’s about four feet tall, with leaves/flowers sticking up on top. Are nodes where the air roots come out?
