Love your Golden Bell sweatshirt. Went to church camp there numerous times back in the early 70s. From Colorado Springs.. A truck driver where I used to work got involved with the split rim. He shortened his leg 4 to 5 inches.

The Goodyear Tire Shop I worked in for 2 years, starting in 1973, lost a man about 2 years before I started. A 7.50X16 blew the ring off, cut the top off his head and continued on to the ceiling, and made an impression therein. A mark we all looked at every day before we went to work.

Used to see a quite a few of those marks in service station ceilings when I was in sales. I even saw the walk in door and part of a wall damaged in a truck shop. That was a week after I had lectured two of the young techs about working on big truck tires outside of the cage. The boss stopped me when I came into the office that day. He thanked me again for my instructions. He also told me that the young guy's wanted to talk to me.

"Leaking through the seal." The O ring is probably not good. They are cheap and it's a pain to swap them. Tip on the blaster. Try angling as much as possible into the tire and less on the wheel. It's a small window granted, but it makes a huge difference on the air captured. And get every single pound of air you can in it. Tank pressure on your highest compressor. 175 works well. 200 gets it done.

when is was around 12 years old dad and i was at a tire shop and a split rim blew up it distorted the tire cage scared the shit out of me never will forget that the employee lived with out the cage he would have been killed

Split ring wheels don't really bother me, cautious of course, but not concerned. Once together properly I personally never personally had a problem. I have, however, seen a split rim separate after haven been together for some time in use.

Ok stupid question time. I've watched a few of the seed cleaning videos and the question is why catch a handful of seed of ( looks to be ) clean seed and drop it into a bucket? Is it to sample moisture or something later? What am I missing? Yeah I'm not a farmer but I watch a lot of videos so I'm a armchair farmer. Lol

Not stupid question at all. They need to get a representative sample for kernel weight (thousand kernel weight usually) so they can calculate the seeding rate based on the number of plants per acre they want. As well the sample can be tested for germ rate and vigor testing by a lab, which also factors into the seeding rate. Finally if there's a crop insurance claim, the inspector may want to see and test the seed sample as well.

You guys think you have it hard.Filling your truck on today's blog with diesel cost $1.0167 cents/litre USD, in Australia AUD that's $1.55/Litre. We pay $2.05/litre AUD for diesel (Large trucking companies pay the oil barrel price which can be cheaper). A US gallon is 3.7854 litre which makes diesel in Australia per US gallon $7.76007 AUD. Farmers and business operating heavy on road vehicles would pay the 'retail' price of fuel when filling up and later claim a 17.8 cent/litre rebate. Off road diesel used for farming/mining plus other industries claim $0.42.7/litre rebate. Bottom line, we pay $6.1437/US gal (farm diesel), you pay $3.8489 truck diesel($559.39/145.335 gal). But, do you get heavy road or farm fuel rebates? I think you do. I must have too much time on my hands to do all these sums, sorry.Happy Easter Sunday (someone will check my sums)
