I don't do this while at home, but at a business dinner or formal occasion I will pass them together. It has nothing to do with a persons age. It is simply knowing the proper protocol for different dining situations.

@@baronmvlberry3 the salt and pepper rule still applies in restaurants (if they care enough) because Blind people will "look" for them on those respective sides. That is the only experience I have with making sure salt was on right, and pepper on the left. We taught new servers that "white is on the right" to help them remember
