I commented below while replying to a comment and yes.. Antonio's pattern is very popular in Europe, Spain included of course which I also use along with this great pattern

Thanks. Spanish are great fishermen and tiers..

Great use of the cdc, I’ve been using up to 4 feathers for my larger split wings, I like the smaller back wing as well, thx
@Oholisfliesandfishing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks.... Yes.... Smaller back wing is nice touch, but it supports fly very well....

Nice one Vladimir! Quill bodies always look so good and modern adhesives make them durable and practical.
@Oholisfliesandfishing4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Hank. I agree, no need to ruin quill with some ribbing, now with all those adhesives or UVs it became very easy to deal with them.. Plus they are very effective

In the Spanish model without the stems I use 3 feathers for # 18 and 4 for #14 but have to be good quality with lots of fibers...need to make sure it floats well and that I can see it.This great pattern goes well with two since the stems are not removed.Have a great day
@Oholisfliesandfishing2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for that information. I used feathers without rachis before, but i think flies hold shape better when i keep the rachis (stem) What i saw most Spanish and Portuguese people do is this hi-viz poly between wings. That i took from them 😀 Cheers Vladimir

Great video! Unless I’m mistaken, this seems very similar to Antonio Rodrigues fly patterns by umpqua but this seems like a much better way to tie them
@Oholisfliesandfishing3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Well, he sounds spanish? I saw this type of flies while i was on a competition in portugal. All Spanish and Portuguese guys were using them. In Serbia, where i am from we use the same type but without hi-viz part. So it was kind of natural upgrade to flies we use... Its amazing fish catcher... 😃😃

Antonio works for Umpqua.CDC patterns like this are widely used in Portugal,Spain(where I fish and live for 6 months/year,France etc plus the famous Spanish perdigones ( pellets is the literal translation)I love this pattern.. it's one of two types I use.Good fishing

So with this pattern the body of the fly goes under the water?
@Oholisfliesandfishing3 жыл бұрын
Usually not. Coq de leon tail is the support on the rear. But even if it does sometimes its not a bad thing. 🍻
@urbancorpse55472 жыл бұрын
great fly but you talk like you are talking to everyone as tho they are idiots, very insulting and offensive
@Oholisfliesandfishing2 жыл бұрын
I can not assume level of tying skills of people who are watching my videos. So if i just say things that are ment for more skilled people i am missing the audience who is probably having more benefits from this video.. Regarding you being offended by it.... There are multiple options to solve that issue... Easiest is not to watch my videos.,. Make them silent and so on... You get ofended too easily... Cheers Vladimir
