I am enjoying your spring videos this week. Most of my jewelry is fashion jewelry, but the last gift my mother gave me was an excellent pair of white pearl earrings with a beautiful pink luster and a little bottle of CHANEL No.5. She included a memorable poem, "Choose not your friends from outward show, feathers fly high, but pearls lie low." Thirty years later when I was able to afford it, I had a pearl necklace and bracelet made to match. I love wearing them on special occasions and think of her every time I get them out.

OH GOOD HEAVENS YES!! I have found Kate Spade bag for 10.00 I found a LV multi color bag and purse, for 200.00 and they were both the real deal. When my kids were little ( they are now 13 and 14) they wore better clothes than my husband and I . E-bay is a great place . Thread up ( there is a SMIDGE of controversy with some online second hand shops ) is fantastic . Depot is a good one and so is poshmark. I actually got some vintage dior kid leather gloves from the "new look" period.. I use a wheelchair activities outside of my home and I can not bring myself to wear fingerless bike or weight lifting gloves. So I wear vintage leather. The dior ones come out every sunday in spring for church and special events. I LOVE THEM.

One of the things I have to argue is our foundation garments. Ones feet and ones bust are where everyone needs the same thing. (some more than others,) a great deal of SUPPORT. Especially if you have a large bust. I am a 36G. and a good bra for me is between 60 to 100 dollars (US) . But every one ( especially once you hit 35 years old) needs good elastic, good fabric and if you are like our darling josie , lace as well. Most women wear a bra every day . No one wants to be sitting on the train and have their underwire jab them in the side. It's the worst. Whilst I have no problem with going into the local target , walmart, primark what have you to get what I call recreational attire, ... ahem.. for the daily wear items ESPECIALLY bras save up , go to a proper department store or bra shop, get measured , and get 2 bras to start with . Treat them like gold whilst you save up for a 3rd. Always hand wash, never EVER machine dry them and they will last quite a while.

I totally agree with your choices of splurge vs save. As an older woman in her mid 50s, things that I've splurged on years ago still have a place in my wardrobe until now. I find that muted colors and simple cuts will never go out of style and adding splashes of colors from accessories adds interest to it.

My Mum taught me many (very many) years ago about the benefits of a quality coat when I was a new Mum myself to my first daughter. I completely agree with investing in good shoes! I have a pair of Emporio Armani heels which I’ve had for about 3-4 years now... I picked them up on a crazy clearance for just $170AUD (about £92). They’re a high block heel, with the most incredible semi-Matte navy leather. Despite wearing them constantly, they honestly look brand new. I haven’t even needed to re-heel them!! Not a single mark because of the quality of leather. And did I mention comfy?? I’d definitely say they are worth even their full price tag. Invest ladies- you won’t regret it! Just make sure they’re classic, and work in well with your wardrobe :)

Artificial leather versus "skin leather" is a very complex topic that should be considered from several perspectives. Artificial leather comes with all the environmental baggage of the petroleum industry, and at the end of the day is no different than wearing a very thick plastic bag on your feet, which is outgassing all kinds of extremely toxic solvents and certainly making your feet more susceptible to fungal infections - yuck>. The feet are exquisitely sensitive's to the environment they contact as they are major sensory organs informing us of our environment. Only a few animals are raised exclusively for their hides (e.g. - alligator, crocodile, python). Most skins used for shoes are cow or calf, and are a by-product of the meat and dairy industries. The metals used in the modern tanning process are also highly toxic, and invariably pollute waterways and cause health damage to workers, especially in countries without worker health protection regulations. The best solution to this conundrum is perhaps the oldest bit of wisdom: everything in moderation. We all love shoes, but let's face it, you can only wear one pair of shoes at a time. (Ditto for handbags)

My splurge is probably your save but I do believe in buying good quality underwear. As a girl with bigger boobs, I can no longer stand bras with too much lace or glitter or rhinestones. Now I stick to comfortable bras in beige and black. They may be a bit more expensive than my "pretty" ones but I feel so much better in them.

Good vlog good content...thanks for taking the time to make so many this week.

I love the majority of this video, but have no idea who would spread that bizarre rumour regarding low/high end jeans. Anyone who has worn a pair of Frame, ReDone, or Acne jeans, and then compared their incredible design, quality and craftsmanship with a brand like Topshop, would assure you they last for years, wear beautifully, and the high street offers nothing to compare. In the interest of sustainability, I always like to pay a higher price for better quality items that won’t stretch out or lose their lustre after a few months (or weeks) wear. Some of my jeans I’ve had for 10 years, and they still look amazing. Also, saving on bras may work if your band size is average, and your cup size is a B or smaller, but there’s no way of finding a high quality, supportive 30D bra without paying >£50. You’ll actually find underwear lasts a lot longer (up to 2yrs) if you invest in good quality items. Throwing it out every 6 months seems so wasteful.

This might seem weird but I spend the most on bra's (always buy Marie Jo), shoes, coats and jewellery! You buy a lot from popular and well known brands like Chloé and Reiss. As you live in London, do you like to shop in little boutiques?

I really like the video and I agree with many points but a word of caution for example when it comes to saving on jeans: we are talking about veeeeery different price points (save to max with Primark, H&M, River Island, Topshop, up to Levi's and then up again to reformation, citizens of humanity and even higher up). From your channel we all know you don't wear a lot of denim so it might seen like saving but for many spending 90 euros on jeans is already a splurge... And you can feel and see (after 1st wash) the difference between Primark/H&M jeans and Levi's.

What I do is that I buy more expensive lingerie only on sale...and the ones I wear everyday, I keep them simple so I don´t mind once it starts getting a little damaged.
