Pull the trigger on the CSX man. I got mine new for $450 last year and I'd say I overpaid. It's smooooooth, people complain about the trigger but I don't notice a single issue. I think that the trigger safety is pretty redundant but it's not in the way really. That said, I'm went from a 43x to CSX, so the trigger was an upgrade already. 12+1 in such a small package is just awesome, and if you're looking for the feature set it has, it's an amazing little pistol. Super controllable even with the 10+1 flush fit mags. And with the aluminum frame it's still lighter than many polymer micros. However, the aftermarket world is nonexistent, which is a bummer in the sense that the sights are pretty meh.

@brendank38534 ай бұрын
Just picked up a shield plus optics ready to upgrade from my GX4. GX4 has been great, but I did have to polish the feed ramp and the mag release is very sensitive which is a little worrying. The shield plus shot great but the mags are very stiff when you get to the last 1/2 rounds. Also had to work the trigger a lot to take away some material. If you pull the trigger at the very top you likely won’t engage the trigger safety enough for it to fire. Just needed to dry fire and fight through the resistance for a few minutes to fix that.

Thanks for such a thorough run down. Most of these guns seem like copies of Glock striker fired designs even though I'm sure they all feel different. I inherited from my late brother a compact Argentine made Bersa Thunder .40 S&W 1911 inspired gun, all metal, hammer fired with a manual safety/decocker, DA/SA, about 7.5" total length, 10+1. It dates probably from the mid 90s when the S&W .40 was used by the FBI and was more popular than 9mm, which was considered underpowered at the time before new 9mm +P hollow points came out. The .40 S&W was considered to have closer to .45 knockdown power with the capacity of a 9mm. Since the Bersa is somewhat old-fashioned, it's a bit heavy now and large in my hands. I'm a small guy, about 5 feet tall, and the weight of the gun makes the barrel droop if I try to shoot it one handed because my wrist gets tired. With the gun being discontinued, it's hard to find mags and holsters for it, so I use it for home defense. I'm looking for a micro 9mm that combines aspects of hammer and striker fired guns. My wish list includes: 5.5" total length, 3 inch barrel, DA/SA, manual safety/decocker, small or internal hammer, 10 round mag so I would be compliant traveling through more restrictive states. DA/SA makes it safer for carrying. Small hammer prevents snags and allows the first round to be SA with the hammer cocked. Internal hammer makes it a little easier for CC and more like a striker design but internal hammer gives a better trigger than a true striker, IMO. I prefer manual safeties to prevent accidental discharges when reholstering or if something gets under the trigger guard with a round in the chamber. A decocker prevents the need of extracting a round before lowering the hammer since riding a hammer down onto a loaded chamber is never safe. Picking up an ejected stray round is annoying. I prefer 1911s but cocked and locked designs seem a little less convenient for CC due to the hammer and beaver tail sticking out. They also seem to have low ammo counts (

@h_in_oh4 ай бұрын
Was at the range and figured out that the CSX really has the ergonomics of a mini Hi-power. The grip feels almost the same, and the movement of the trigger, while made to look a 1911, really moves just like the trigger on a Springfield SA-35 (Hi-Power without the magazine disconnect).

A few months ago I got a Kimber micro 9 two tone, totally honest it has been flawless, probably about 900 rounds through it. I like that I can remove the firing pin and extractor to clean the channels, the same way on any 1911, (yes I’m aware the Kimber Micro 9 is not a true 1911), it shoots great, recoil for me is not an issue with it. Downside compared to others is the round count. Look I stay in my lane, don’t look for drama on the road or wherever I go, last thing I want is to pay thousands upon thousands to lawyers, I’ve been down that road with my divorce 😂😂😂, so unless it affects me personally or my family I got nothing to do with it.

Kimber Micro 9 coined the phrase ‘micro 9’, funny how the term was hijacked by double stack compacts and sub compacts. Sig 938, LC9 didn’t make the cut either. I know the manufacturers call these micros but I think it inadvertently subjugates an entire array of correctly classified firearms that work rungs above a ‘mouse’ .380, 22lr or 32acp but don’t pants you at the food store with a hyper paranoid fixation on capacity and components.
