I can shoot pretty well, but I have to admit when I got the PDP 5 inch barrel, the first 3 shots right out of the box grouped bullseye. The trigger is phenomenal for this series and the grip texture is excellent. The harder you squeeze the firearm, it feels like the texture adheres better to your hand. It's well made, very balanced, and a very fast reset.

Second. I’m very interested in how the pdp f 3.5 compares.
@schelleracinginnovations19255 ай бұрын
I rented both 43x and the F 3.5” side by side. PDP F feels great in hand, its noticeably heavier and much wider. Super chunk on the slide so if you do not mind that, it shoots nice and you get the added capacity. I got the 43x mos.
@Jarrow134 ай бұрын
The PDP F 3.5 is a sub compact.. or even more specific a Sub Compact X due to the compact duty length grip, where the Hellcat Pro, 43X and 365 XL are Micro 9's due to their slimline profile... or to be more specific due to their evolution to a longer barrel and grip from the original Hellcat and 365 it's almost like a Micro 9 X. The PDP F 3.5 is going to shoot very much like a Compact duty pistol. I tend to see the Hellcat Pro's, 43X's and 365 XL's as conceal Carry EDC specific pistols as they excel in that framework, where the PDP F 3.5 is more of that all rounder purpose pistol, like the P10S and Canik TP9 SC. The PDP F 3.5 can be a Conceal carry EDC, but can also be used for regular range sessions. It's not as nice to EDC like the slimmer pistols, but it's definitely more pleasant to shoot 2 to 4 boxes of 50's in a range session than the majority of these slimline pistols.
@luckylandy29454 ай бұрын
@@Jarrow13Well said bro, I own all of these and I honestly keep flipping back and forth on which EDC to carry between my PDP COMPACT and my PDP F SERIES, and due to me doing a lot of moving around for work I normally go with my F Series, plus I love the trigger on it. My COMPACT is my baby still, but that trigger is soooo incredibly light that's it's almost ridiculous. And I know it's not just me cause I've watched numerous of big name videos of big namers who say the same. I always accidentally double tap at the range and so did Colin Noir in his video, and many others. My F series, I've never double tapped. I love them both. Lol.

I've been researching the PDP compact lately so I think it's great and very timely you're doing a video with your thoughts on it. I even ordered one of their trigger upgrades last night, just because it was actually in stock for once, just in case I end up buying a PDP. I've owned a PPQ M2 Compact for years now and really love it. So even though I usually carry a Glock, I'll probably get a PDP at some point here, I think it's truly excellent firearm.

I've said it multiple times and I'll say it again: Walther... please, PLEASE give us a PPS M3 based on the PDP with at least 10+ rounds and optics cut. That's probably the only handgun that would replace my Hellcat Pro right now. My PPQ M2 is a bit too bulky to comfortably carry in South Florida, so please just make a 1.5-stack PPS already! Even HK is getting theirs out
@stopthephilosophicalzombie90173 ай бұрын
I've stopped holding my breath. I've begged Walther for a PPS/PPQ hybrid for over 10 years. Canik even came out with a micro compact before Walther did, and they're the ones who basically stole Walther's trigger design. I suppose it was because they didn't want to wade into the magazine wars around Sig's supposedly new patent on the stack and a half magazine (it's actually not an original idea). There's also the problem with importing micro compacts due to the U.S. import points system (which is why the PPK is made in the U.S.), but I don't know why they can't make the frames and barrels in Ulm and assemble the pistol in the U.S. at their plant. None of it makes sense to me.

Awesome! A review of a Walther PDP compact. I don’t have this firearm but I do own the PDP 5" full size version…and it’s fantastic! Personally, I would prefer this (compact) PDP over the Glock 19. They are basically the same size with a little bulkier slide on the PDP (which I prefer). You get great quality/reliability with both, yet with Walther (out of the box) you get a much nicer trigger. Though the Gen 5 Glocks have definitely improved on their triggers, they still have some work to do to catch Walther.

I love my PDP, few tips for new owners: 1-gotta set your grip to not cover the extended slide release, or your slide won't lock back on an empty mag 2-the grip texture is good for shooting, but will eat your skin off if carrying appendix, I rigged some electrical tape on the side facing my body and haven't had any problems since 3-it's significantly harder than a glock to fully dis/reassemble, you end up having to hammer the crap out of it

I never understood why Walther put plastic sights on the PPQ/PDP and steel sights on the PPS. I think it might have to do with the ridiculous import points system the U.S. has for German guns which protects S&W. I ended up buying a set of the steel PPS sights and putting them on my PPQ M1, but I don't think you can do that swap anymore with the Glock style dovetail on the PDP.
