Try again, but use clay/wax to build an edge wall around/within the head to block the JBWeld from flowing away, then it would be as deep as the clay/wax/mould. Let it harden/dry, then machine it flat, as thick as a gasket, mount it and try again.

That's a good idea. I've used syringes as well. One time in a pinch after screwing in some trim around a doorway (screws was all i had - not deck screws but too large for the job), i sunk them in a good 1/4 inch and thought about what i could use to fill the holes before painting. JB weld was all I had, but it would be too runny to stay in the hole. Once again I look around and all I really had was some flour. Mixed some flour in with the JB weld until it was more like a paste, filled the holes and flattened them with a hotel key card and it worked perfectly. After paint you can't tell how that trim is attached to the wall. JB weld is like duct tape when it comes to redneck engineering, only better! 😂

Aluminum can be tricky to bond to. It starts to develop a thin oxide layer immediately after you sand it. The JB Weld bonded to that oxide layer, and then that oxide layer is what separated from aluminum, making it look like there was no bond.

Speaking from experience! Wipe down the parts with acetone and use the original JB Weld. The first time I used it to repair a cast iron engine block in what was then a new 1989 Ford Fiesta. The car was hit in the front and snapped the rear motor mount out of the block and we didn’t notice it until the car was completely repaired and painted. A friend told me about JB Weld and I was skeptical af but tried it anyway! I let it set for a few days and filled the radiator with just water half expecting it to blow the triangle shaped piece out of the block. Nope it held and I drove it around for a couple weeks before selling it to a rural mailman who drove it quite literally into the ground! I talked to him when the car had over a 100k on it and he said it was still delivering the mail. Obviously not a cylinder head but still had lots of coolant pressure

Peoole talking shit about a motor that’s making over 3k hp that can be street driven. Because word is the Camaro is getting a hemi is in the talked but no matter what will have a pro charger. But I hate the none racers who bash engine builders and companies because they think they know something because they see a KZbinr mess up a 2000-3500 wheel horse power engine or transmission even down to rearends. Hell imagine if Garrett was had a dragster how butt hurt they would get when he was rebuilding engines every run and when one splits in half and throws the blower off. It would be mayhem at the companies/sponsors pages. I think what happened the very first time with the washers+JB weld Slow Cure can be explained by my theory that when they tightened down the head, some of the in weld oozed out into the combustion chamber. When it cures the head gasket becomes all one solid piece, and the blobs that extended out past the sealing surface into the cylinder are connected and part of that one giant solid piece of JB Weld. When the pistons move up and down they hit the portions that protrude into each cylinder causing chunks to break off or form cracks propagating into other areas of the head gasket. So basically anywhere on the entire engine where there are areas where JB Weld oozed out beyond the “sealing ring area” and protruding into the combustion chamber area, is a guaranteed failure point or weak spot. Or should I say…….A “Leak Spot” 😂

Note on your sponsor. I tried the factors, They taste delicious, Issue is they work out to $15CAD/pack after taxes and most are less than 400g. Unfortunately its really not cheaper than fast food, Although im sure its better for you. The first 2 boxes with your code are worth the buy though.

What I would do is put a layer or JB weld on the head, and let it cure some but don't let it fully cure. Then put another coat on it. Build it up not letting it fully cure then put the final coat on, and torque it down. It still won't work but that's what I'd do. Side note: I have broken every vehicle I have ever attempted to work on...so take my advice with a whole lot of salt. I can fix guns without an issue, but I can screw up an oil change. By the way, I used JB weld to put bever tales on my Glock pistols, because the slide was always taking a hunk of skin out of my hand. It works great. One has a gray frame, it matched perfectly.

I don't think you realize how hard or unrealistic it is to expect a goopy liquid to maintain the thickness of a head gasket, when there are no walls or anything to contain it. You were always going to have gaps because of gravity.

295 horses from a 99 LS1, and 290 foot pounds of torque, and its still running 20 plus years on, that's pretty damn good actually, like what happened, did the engineers lock the bean counters in a room while they made a good engine for once
