In the regular series production, Spock, especially early Spock, has a way of smiling without actually smiling. It's quite endearing.

Same with Data. if these characters were really as emotionless as they are supposed to be that would make them far less appealing

I think the older I get, the more I appreciate actors who are able to convey emotions in Vulcans without making it obvious to the untrained eye. Mark Lenard did a terrific job of it with Sarek, especially in the movies.

"We tend to ignore it, as you ignore your own appendix." I love how immediately after that, there's a few seconds of Kirk, Uhura and McCoy clearly trying to not think about their own appendices.

Ok this show is just gold. Talk about an onion it just has layers on layers. I walked home from middle school 1977 to catch TOS at 1600 to watch re-runs. Now I'm 61 and still nuances emerge. Then I found out what a bad-ass Gene Roddenberry was in WW2 and it makes it that much better. Gene as well as all of our veterans thank you for fighting for our once great country! Can't wait for the time machine to become fully operational because then im gone.

The goal is to unite the two halves into one harmonious whole. In the journey of mental development, some individuals grasp and retain information better when they read with their own eyes, while others comprehend more effectively through auditory learning-by listening and imagining as they hear a story. But why not embrace both? To enhance learning, practice integrating both approaches: read aloud while listening to the words, and close your inner eyelids, allowing your mind to visualize as you read and speak. This is akin to the challenge of patting your head and rubbing your belly simultaneously-an exercise in mental and physical development that cultivates greater self-awareness and adaptability. By engaging both reading and auditory skills together, you not only improve comprehension but also create a more holistic, balanced approach to learning.

his father is also cheeky. In the episode where we meet them Spock asks his father why he married his human mother.
