I bought mine about 2 years ago, an original 6 circuit model. Waited for a nice discount from Krawl. Nice upgrade for adding electrical without messing with the vehicle wiring. It keeps the can bus gremlins from coming around.

LOL, you picked a guy to help you that hate wiring... Good one, it actually shows how easy it is to install the sPOD (anybody can do it). Glad to see videos again of the club Jeep project.

He and I hate wiring equally! Love how simple this system is to install and how simple it makes furniture additions!

TrailRecon: yea the SPOD also keep wire clutter to a minimium, it is a good edition to any Jeep.

That cable to hook up the alternate switch pod is called a “Power-Over-Ethernet Cord” or POE. It’s most likely a Cat5 cord as well. Pretty much it’s a cable that’ll let you run a network through and not need a separate power cable, the same used on a lot of security cámara systems! Btw, love the videos, keep it up!
@Rico460774e5 жыл бұрын
It's either Cat5 or Cat6 but the pin out is not the same for network so not what is used on security camera systems.

“footmen” were attendants who ran beside or behind the carriages of aristocrats. Carriages often had mountains of luggage strapped to the back, most likely with leather. A low, flat loop would be useful in securing the load.

The SPOD has great customer service. One of my rocker switch broke, I call them and they sent me a new cover at no charge, just shipping and handling.
@EthosAtheos6 жыл бұрын
Its very cool. But at 800+ USD. I think I will use an Arduino board with relay breakout , a box and some in line fuses. This is a good product but the price is just to over the top for me. I guess if I were building vehicles every day and labor mattered then its not a bad buy. But a days work and some switches and I can replicate all it's functionality at a fraction of the price.
@insaneTrout4 жыл бұрын
Not just that but not even waterproof...that price point is too excessive for not being water proof and having to cut your vehicle up..

Lol, that is why they sell Bugatti Veyron and they sell Nissan GTR or Nissan Z. Just buy what suits you. Don't worry about people who pay high prices for things you feel do not make sense to you. There are many other things in the world that other people do that do not make sense to you. It is normal. If people were not buying, the company would have filed for bankruptcy. But people are buying like crazy, so business is booming.

The sPOD for our new to us 2015 JKUR arrives tomorrow thanks to this video!!!! Brad do you have your winch ran to the sPOD? I understand that the winch draws more amps than the sPOD is rated for, but I'm wanting to use it as a "on/off" switch for the winch. Would love to know how you have your winch set up.

I have been waiting for this video for a long time. It is the best step by step install of the sPOD that I have seen on youtube. I, like your friend Matt am hesitant about fooling around with the electrical stuff and pulling off the plastic panels, so what can I do to convince John the mechanic to come to Las Vegas and help me install my own sPOD (smiles)? Thanks for another outstanding TrailRecon video! Question, would I have to remove my front hardtop panels to remove the footman's loop?
@TrailRecon7 жыл бұрын
Running wires is one of my least favorite things to do, so I feel you. No you don't have remove the freedom panels, we just did it because it made it easier to see for the video. Thanks!!

3 questions from Australia. If you parallel connect another set of 8 switches do you use the same main unit, or do you require an additional main unit? Is it possible to easily have two set of 8 switches next to each other above the windscreen? Is there a touch screen monitor that comes with the sPOD where you can create multiple soft switches, something like the ARB LINX product?
