'Spoiled child!' Royal expert reacts to Prince Harry police protection row | Palace Confidential

The legal case Prince Harry pursued against the Home Office made him look like a ‘spoiled child’. That’s the view of the Daily Mail’s Diary Editor Richard Eden, who says that the Duke of Sussex won’t find sympathy with the British public after he lost his bid to get the UK police to provide his security when he is here. ‘He really does just come across as a spoiled child. When he quit those royal duties with Meghan, he gave up the privileges that came with it and one of those was protection,’ he tells Palace Confidential. ‘It’s something that he should have considered long and hard before he quit royal duties, there’s no reason why very hard-pressed British taxpayers should be paying the security of this very wealthy person, who's earning money by telling stories about life with the royal family. So I don’t think there’s much public sympathy in Britain for his position at all.’

I would hope so. He was very jealous of Diana rather than proud of her. I often wonder if he hadn’t been so self absorbed and been more supportive ( and less obsessed with Camilla) if things wouldn’t have turned out differently. To be fair to Richard, he said that the supposed complaints came from some courtiers, not that they were felt by the Royals themselves. And he said something about it being believed by the public because of the ideas put out with Charles and Diana and then in Harry’s book. It didn’t sound like he personally believed it, although i did not read his printed article. I don’t believe in such a thing, if it ever existed, because the King must know how much they all need the positive publicity from the Wales to help the popularity of the Monarchy- especially with so few of them being working royals now.

Apparently the RED BOX OF LETTERS (documents or whatever the Papers are called) from Parliament, that need to be individually read and signed arrive in the Palace office by 5:15am, guarded and opened at 5:30am. Queen Elizabeth II used to be up and dressed ready to read the red box at 5:30am, then would eat a healthy cooked breakfast at 8/8:30am. The King has stuck to the schedule

She was known to have said that she wanted to be the Princess of Wales and she read too many fairytale novels. And nobody in Charles's social circle wanted to give up their privacy and independence to marry Charles and Diana was basically the only option and she seemed perfect on paper and in all the times the two met up before they got married. Charles couldn't have been happier, he thought Diana was a godsend and he didn't even bother to get to know or fall in love with her properly, he thought she was perfect and wanted to get married as quickly as possible. He was never jealous of her attention, he's not stupid but he did get angry when Diana vindictively tried to undermine him in public.
