Fair, that's what they constantly tell us after all. Play ff14 when you enjoy it and do something else when you don't. Always welcome back if you feel like it and wish you all the joy out of other things if you don't =) Agree with you that ShB dealt with the personal feeling of despair better, EW was more collective depression. Made me think of the climate change doomer feeling together with the virus isolation from each other that we globally have had to deal with. No matter what we do we can't save ourselves and even if we could something else will show up to kill us. I'm glad EW did its best to remind us that we need to keep living and trying anyway, because that is life and being alive with it's glimmer of hope and happiness in the darkness is worth it.

That's one of the things I've enjoyed about FF14 and that whole philosophy. I don't feel like I'm required to continue playing to keep up with everyone and people love to do the content. I know that when I go back to playing it, I'll be able to jump in, do the work to get caught up if needed quickly and then look for a group! And yes, that sounds about right. I think you put it a little better than I could ever describe that.
