Love these old 1940's and 50's movies mostly shot on location instead of on a Hollywood soundstage.Adds much more realism with real outdoor scenes, real sunshine and scenery.

Always liked Louis Heydt (the policeman) in those films I saw him in; he seemed so affable. The star, James Millican always reminded me of Heydt, and I used to think they could be brothers. Good film- thanks!

For those wondering whether to watch this obviously ultra-low budget offering it's actually quite well written, acted and directed. And blessedly fast-paced unlike today's movies.

Low budget need not mean badly written, acted, and directed in the first place. Just like high budget need not mean well written, acted, and directed. A movie's either good or it isn't.

In those days they could make a good movie in 60 to 70 minutes, nowadays they are two hours of boredom.

This version is much better than the Lorne Green version. Much more dialog and some great laughs.

Fairly decent movie, though Laura pretty much needed her head examined for not seeing Bill as the better catch (no pun intended). Oops, needed to see the complete film.

I'd rather find a good restaurant that can serve salmon properly prepared. Not often you find that.

Native Americans made to use small nets, whites were allowed to use very large nets. Nothing has changed for the first Americans.

My heart just bleeds! Now let's talk about how one Indian tribe would screw over another Indian tribe every chance they got. That's why they could never put up a united front against the incoming Whites.

Jim Clark - a simplistic statement reeking of the modern day prejudices so prevalent now. Two very different necessities, the natives didn't need to use large industrial nets to catch the required fish as they fished only for themselves.

Even stranger is the western hemisphere having "america" in its' name. Amerigo Vespucci sailed from Europe and - according to ship logs - stopped in the Venezuela/Brazil area - didn't venture inland - -sailed back to Europe he never even set one foot in the land we now call North America.. Bizarre to have his name plastered all over the western hemisphere.

Not a great actor but good enough to hold onto a career most others could not have pulled off in view of the following fact. In real life Paul Kelly was sent to prison for killing a man . He continued his acting career AFTER his prison release. This film is just one of many that followed his scandal ! Now that's a COME BACK !!!

They always spoil the movie with some senseless, irresponsible so called love. No matter how much you think you love someone, in as much as they dated your close family member, you should keep off them.
