The reason why the Warriors of Hope is so much more scarier than Junko is because they’re real. Their traumas are real, what adults did to them are real. And how Monaca abuse and manipulate them is very, very real. There are a lot of people who can relate to Nagisa, understand what Kotoko went through, sympathise with Jataro and Masaru, and there are people who have met someone like Monaca or were like Monaca in some way but got better. And the fact that they’re kids can make a lot of people relate to them more. That’s kind of one of the reasons why people love Danganronpa so much. The characters are really relatable and felt real, they allow people to express how they can relate to them and form closer bonds, and the Warriors of Hope are no exceptions.

All their traumas are horrible, but Nagisa’s and Masaru’s breakdowns, in my opinion, effected me the most. For Nagisa, I guess it is just I can relate to how he wants everyone to expect high things from him. For Masaru’s, it’s the fact that he lives with the mindsets that heroes don’t get scared, thus him being hard on himself when he’s not over his trauma.

This game completely fucked me over tbh It was much darker than the main danganronpa story line. We got to see what the outside world was like and what was happening out there. The kids, though, completely fucking ruined me. They made me cry, a lot. Their parents were just so abusive and which lead to them being traumatized and wanting to get rid of all the adults because they were scared, besides Monaca. I want to hug all of them, besides Monaca. Also, as much as I hate Monaca, she was a great mastermind. Still hate that damn kid. Jataro, Nagisa, Kotoko and Masaru all deserve better and need a hug.

I really find it amazing that at least one of these kids, people can find comfort in them, y'know? The characterization of the 4 children antagonists with raw misguidance and trauma is a very special sentiment, especially for those suffering/have suffered similar circumstances. Monaca, while I hate her, is an important asset to show that the negative in that mental state can drive you to hurt everyone for fun, contrasting the innocence and pain of the other kids' mentality with her/junko's desire for chaos.

The way Monaca controls them, giving Nagisa the love he wants so much, beating Kotoko to show her she won’t be gentle like others. She literally learns it all from the manipulations adults do. Like when they’re in a relationship or in a friendship. She literally just copies what she has seen from adults to manipulate the other children and this is sad because in real life a lot of abusers learn these from a young age from their parents which later on turns them into the abusers.

This is apparently an unpopular opinion, but I love all the kids EXCEPT Monaca. She reminds me of a manipulative person from my past who betrayed and traumatized me, so little green girl doesn't sit too well with me (plus I have a deep attachment and connection to Nagisa because expectation trauma oop) But even then, none of these kids deserved the cards they were dealt. I've played this game twice through (doing a new game+ now for achievements 😌) and the second time I actually had to skip through the executions because. It do b hurtin y'know These kids all need Serious Therapy and they need to be shown that there is a better way than the way they went about it in game (which from understanding, only happened because of Junko and Monaca's manipulation)

in summary someone please love these children in a genuine wholesome way they really need it. i genuinely believe that theyre not crazy theyre just,,, scared kids that saw no other way to make the hurt stop. yeah they did Some Bad Things, but they were driven by the hope of never having to be afraid again. having that sort of thing promised to you after being afraid and hurt for so long can probably push you pretty far, especially if youre just a kid

when you think about it, the warriors of hope and the monokids have to be related somehow, I mean, monotaro (red) is seen as the "leader" So is masaru (red hair) when really monodam (green) is pulling the strings, like monaca (green hair) and monophanie (pink) is sort of like the "girly girl" of the group, like kotoko (pink hair) Monotaro = Masaru Monophanie = kotoko Monosuke = jataro monokid = nagisa monodam = monaca But wait! there's more the monokubs deaths are in reverse order than the warriors of hopes execution sequences bonus: monokuma (the father of the monokubs) = shirokuma (works against the warriors of hope) and kurokuma (works with the warriors of hope) kinda explains how he is both kind and mean to the monokubs i'm not saying they're the same being but i am saying they're symbolic of eachother *BUT HEY* _THAT'S JUST A THEORY_ Edit: wtf monosuke why do you have to ruin my theory by dying second

(Servant is one of my least favorite characters in this game. I love Nagito in Goodbye Despair but I find UDG Nagito creepy asf)

And I honestly hate that people skip this game!
