lamp = deepaha: only is needed. electric lamp = vidyut deepaha. because there are oil lamps also.

For dining room and bath room you can drop purvag pra... As they are small unless they are way too huge like room... For small rooms eg bath and dining room kosthaha can be used... OTher rooms which are bigger pra can be added and be called prakoshthah... BTW dont take me as a sanskrut scholar like you guys... its in my name... Prashant means more quiet or pacific also used for pacific ocean as its very deep thus most quiet too...
@avntikaShree6 жыл бұрын
Prashant Pandya 😂😂 i think you have a logic for this,but you dont know..we sanskrit scholars call that shayangrahm,snangriham....गृहम् इति शब्द: तु प्रकोष्ठाद् अपि विशालस्थानस्य कृते प्रयुक्तो भवति...we use " snangrihm" word for bathroom,and grih is more big than prakoshtha😂😂 than what to do with that😂😂🙄

Dude, I'm not an expert on Sanskrit, but I get the feeling that you are transliterating instead of using the original words..
@srjskam8 жыл бұрын
There's no such thing as original [written] words of Sanskrit. It has practically always been written with a range of writing systems (almost all Indian scripts, Thai, Tibetan, etc), most lately in the Latin alphabet. Devanāgarī is just the most popular way of writing Sanskrit right now. Of course it is eventually worth learning, but for a KZbin series on /spoken/ Sanskrit for a global audience, Romanisation is definitely the right choice.
@ramans118 жыл бұрын
I am not talking about any system of writing; I'm talking about transliterating - e.g. take the waterfall; now there is no word in Sanskrit called "Jalapathanam", although you transliterate it from English words for Water and Fall. I want to know if there are original words in Sanskrit for "Living Room", "Bed Room" and "Bath Room"
@srjskam8 жыл бұрын
Ah, you mean calques, not transliteration. The term 'transliteration' refers specifically to transforming text at the level of letters (not words) between different scripts.

got it, learnt something new today.. thank you :)

+ramans11 Bcoz no one left to add new words to sanskrit dictionary. We can only see new words made from old sanskrit words.
