Amen... humbling ourselves before the Throne of God... Where Christ is seated... upon the Mercy Seat... in His HOLINESS for it is the GOODNESS OF GOD that leads a man to repentance for it brings to Light, the darkness... and absolute beauty brings ugliness to shame Like when I was on a drug comedown and my nephew & niece were climbing all over me, showering me with love and affection, wanting to play games with me... and i could give them nothing, i had nothing to give them... i was dead inside... yet they didn't relent and their lovingkindness pierced my heart... I ran into the bathroom, locked the door and wept over myself and cried out to the Lord to save me and he did... as he always has... and always will do

I like this too, and can agree with you. What’s the point of living this life, if we don’t truly put God first in life. In my opinion there is no point cause we will always be miserable no matter how much money, friends, relationships, food, or jobs we have. Without putting God first in your life and having a true relationship with him people will always be miserable deep down because the flesh is too weak without putting God First.

Ecclesiastes is my favourite book of the bible. Because its message is: Without God, the humans have no worth or meaning. Obey God, obey the highest idea: Love.
@peterchou65572 жыл бұрын
No, you're wrong. We don't obey or embrace a mere idea and think it is Christianity. Christianity is all about Jesus Christ. Therefore, love is not an idea, but the actual entity of a Divine Being. The summary of every aspect of God's attributes is in one sentence, "God is love", "Love Divine, all loves excelling...", as a hymn says. God has Himself manifested in the second Person of the Trinity, Jesus. If your definition for love is nothing more than a human idea, I guarantee you that it's not from the Bible.

God is Our Husband... and nobody can top the wedding vows that were spoken at Calvary... There is no greater love ^ To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. ^^ He shall cleave unto his wife... to stay very close to... to glue, to adhere, to join, to stick. I know most people don’t like Ecclesiastes, but to me it is one of the most comforting books. When we feel that our earthly pursuits are meaningless, Ecclesiastes says, “Yes, they are.” It doesn’t give us false hope. Instead, it tells us to enjoy the world’s gifts well in moderation, but it points forward to Someone else we ought to center our lives around, not someone under the sun, Someone who steers the sun and brings solidity to our vaporous existence

My favorite book of the Bible, honestly. This tiny little book brought me back from Atheism. Before, I barely even knew the book existed; seems to be woefully under-taught and under-talked about. So much of what the book talks about is what originally drove me away from the church; imagine how shocked I was that there was a book of the Bible that addressed my exact inner monologue that was causing me to lose my faith! Like it was written just for me.

my favorite book of the Bible too. shocked me to see that so much of what i was feeling, thinking and doing was in there. made so much sense of things. perfect book for intellectuals and non-believers. helped me stop going in circles with reading all sorts of philosophy, helped with some depression too. i think it would help many people come to the faith if it was talked about more.

This book is my favorite out the entire bible thus far. I was at a dark space and did not see the point of life. We all going to die. However, after reading the book of Ecclesiastes everything make sense. Life without God is vein and pointless. Without God and putting him first you are just living of the world. You are blinded by what you think is happiness. God is happiness. He is the one you want to impress not man.

I'm exhausted, how do I impress God with lack of energy. I'm repenting, receiving, surrendering, I know i have received the holy spirit, I want more and more of it, it feels good, but what is my path God wants me to follow, I keep asking, I'm not sure I'm getting an answer

Please, believing Jesus is not self-centered but Christ-centered. It's not about our feelings or emotions, but the Truth. No one can impress God, nor does anyone need to impress God. God's people receive faith by grace through Jesus Christ, who shed His blood to pay all the debts sinners owe God so we can be reconciled to/ accepted by Him. Scripture provides all the answers. Diligently seek Him, and you will find. As Jesus promised, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you."

One theory I've heard about the authorship of ecclesiates is that Solomon wrote it at the end of his life. After he had spent his riches on extravagant living and his time with that day's wife, when he had dedicated himself to what he wanted and ultimately deserted God in many ways, he wrote that life without God is vain. Basically, Solomon wrote his portion of Proverbs at the beginning of his reign, Song of Solomon (Song of Songs) towards the middle of his reign (as he was collecting wives), and ecclesiastes at the end of his reign to document the lessons he learned. While this makes no difference in the actual meaning of the text, I do think I makes sense and adds a level of genuineness that, for me at least, makes eccelesiastes even more meaningful. Also, remember that this is a theory based on historical records and extrapolation from other sources. The only way to know with complete surety is to build a time machine, and the changing of the author makes no difference in the meaning and interpretation of the text. I just wanted to put that out there because I think it's a pretty interesting fun fact.

My answer to what is the point of working and gaining wealth before watching the rest of the video was that it makes you live a fulfilling and pleasing life to God and yourself. Then I learned that it is all vanity, all useless under the sun, but I think you shouldn't care about your work being vanity or your work going to somebody else because Jesus did the work for you to get into heaven and to know him. Passing down your work to the next generation is a blessing and depending on the work, they might learn from it and help stop future wars and countless deaths.
