Hey Ned, been following you for years on the various forums, including being a member for the last two years on your forum. Thank you for everything you have contributed to us all. I’m curious though, what are the rammers made out of? I have been bouncing around all the forums and your channel to figure it out. To me, they look like SS. Any info would be wonderful.

@@nedgorski hey ned i have a question for you it has to do with the rocket tube supporters.. does the tube wall thickness itself play's a role if it is thick or thin for gases to expand making it CATO or it doesn't matter?? (ps * the rocket is R-candy and have core!) Can the supporter hold it tightly after rumming or it will brake after you open the supporter or even worse making CATO?
@stevenl78785 жыл бұрын
Are you worried at all about the impact sensitivity of the black powder? I know bp can be pressed but the hammering is putting multiple shocks into the bp versus a press which does not introduce hammer shocks.
@matheusdardenne3 жыл бұрын
The powder is very slightly wet, it is nearly impossible that it would ignite from that light beating.

gunpowder.
@nedgorski6 жыл бұрын
gunpowder is a generic term which can refer to various different gun propellants. In fireworking, we typically use basic black powder made from KNO3, charcoal, and sulfur.

Dampening the comp, using the pointed-tip rammer, the way of loading and ramming the increments... There are quite a few small differences from the way I've usually made them.
@xmaxlev7 жыл бұрын
ned gorski Any pro/cons with this method, compared to your regular method? Curious because I always use timefuse. // Max
@nedgorski7 жыл бұрын
I like the speed and efficiency of this method, combined with the hard grain end exterior, due to the dampening. I also like the reliability of the interior grain end, shaped with the pointed rammer, and the inclusion of the grain powder in the finishing. So, in general, I'm sold on the benefits of the method shown in this vid.

@nedgorski4 жыл бұрын
@@stevkolasab7269 I'd highly recommend a fine, granulated BP for spolettes. The grains will bit into tube wall, really locking the BP grain in there, preventing it from being blown through when the shell lifts.

@thebestcdub30416 жыл бұрын
Just watched Fireworking 201 Lesson 10 ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2ekfp58rpJjh9E ) I understand now, the rammed powder was "meal powder" (powder grains that passed 12-mesh) and the powder you sprinkled was assumingly larger.
