Dear Mr. Gorski......I can’t thank you enough for sharing your Mastery and continued work with us. At 56 I can honestly say that I can still get a tear in my eye at a good display, and I’ll be forever thankful to my brother for giving me my first Mortar and Pestle at 11 or 12. The blisters from slaving to grind down big ugly chlorate and nitrate crystals for him aside. As with most products of Art and high craft, especially that which burns and explodes, there would be nothing without those to teach and carry it forward...thanks again.

Ned, these are among my absolute favorites. Man, if those finished products don't make pyros want to study to become fireworkers, nothing will. Absolutely gorgeous!

The detail that goes in to this is amazing. I thought I knew how to lift a comet... I do now! lol . Need to start a crowdfund campaign to get you a videographer and 4k camera lol . It's a lot of work not to have it filmed in the highest quality. Thanks again

The last 4 or 5 were quite impressive I think it was more to do with the direction of the apogee but wow. Imagine sending two or three of those up along with a nice Willow type shell as a trio. 🤔😌

Amazing Ned , I am a follower for a long time already. Could you recomment one particular composition of streamer to start with , that doesn't include potassium perchlorate that works well ? Preferably with aluminium 325 mesh since I have a batch of it.

Ned can i use my 40 # craft paper and. Elmers glue to make pipes for quick match?
@nedgorski3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can. Rolling the pipes on a solid aluminum 3/8" rod, or a split round curtain rod about that size, works nicely. Good luck.

How important is it to use 2 strands of black match in your pipe? I've done tests with a single strand, and it seems to work quite well. Does 2 strands per pipe affect the burn rate of quick match?
@nedgorski5 жыл бұрын
I think two strands get choked off less easily than one strand, when a tie is put around the quickmatch. Otherwise, if the one strand is good quality and "fat", it can work quite well in there all alone.
@danielmackey65945 жыл бұрын
@@nedgorski Thanks for the response! That's quite helpful. This is my first year making quick match. I'll have to play with trying to choke it off and find out what my limitations are.
@nedgorski5 жыл бұрын
@@danielmackey6594 To avoid it getting choked off, Dan, traditional fireworkers would put a short second strand of blackmatch into the quickmatch in areas where it was going to be tied, to prevent such choking off of the fire.
@danielmackey65945 жыл бұрын
@@nedgorski Perfect. I'm just using some tape to hold the junctions together. BUT if i ever have to tie it off, I'll use the short second strand method. Thanks again!
@nedgorski5 жыл бұрын
@@danielmackey6594 If that's working for you, don't change it, Dan. But string-ties create a much more secure joint between quickmatch and a nosing/bucket, allowing the nosing to inflate and burst before letting go of the quickmatch. Tape alone can be the cause of failures, if the nosing starts to inflate, and the blows the quickmatch loose before reliably passing fire. There's typically good reason the traditional methods have been used for decades or centuries.
