I had no idea that black match and quick-match were commercially available. I just made my own when needed because I thought that was the only way to get it. Your machine is worlds better than my method using just hands to blend slurry into the strings.

@papyro68303 жыл бұрын
That's a ridiculous and misleading comment. I have the machine and i made 500ft of flawless blackmatch in under 30 minutes several times. It saturates each string individually before it combines them into one,how wet your slurry is determines if it soaks in to the string or not. Tie it up tight like a close line and when it's dry, cut it down and you have nice,uniform,match that's looks like it came out of a machine. The darn thing is amazing,you have no idea what your saying

Very interesting method Ned. I like to to get things done a little quicker, so I just attach the end coming out of the machine to a D engine sized rocket, and shoot it up and over some very tall high tension electrical wires, then stake the BM to the ground on the other side. Sometimes I get a little tingle in my arms if the mix is a little too wet. Surprisingly, the BM dries in about a minute or two. If left too long, it will ignite the BM and I'll set California on fire again. I've also taken black match to another level. I'll first run the string through a 36/24 PN/sugar hot mix with just a pinch of iron oxide added, then when dry I recoat with a layer of BP slurry with dextrose. It makes a very firm solid fuse that burns so well, that it's more fun than the time te hogs ate my sister.

I know what I will be building soon! Is a 6 string wind the industry standard?
@bobharrison96202 жыл бұрын
Sir are these 6 rolls of 4 ply better than your 2 strands of 8 ? . Mine was more like this 6 roll.My machine is 5 rollers knurled with a separator as they enter the box. Looks like Argo is out of Business. I was able to get a pound for $25 plus but I wanted to get an idea of your mix against failing dextrin. I also received the 8 ply twine today. Going to try to get the road done tomarrow. I also don't throw out the leftover , just granulate and jam it in a tube. My box dryes the compound out as the dry string seams to pull the moisture out of I rember right . It's been a long time is why I'm asking so much. Also I used something like 6 rolls of dollar store twine. Bob

Like the machine it's a great idea of how to bind those strings together getting them nice, moist, & slurried great invention by Caleb. Looks a bit confusing to set up but I'm sure u get used to it pretty quick. Now the blackmatch u made by hand earlier was a different gauge string right. Are both products the same just different sizes & different methods of preparing it. The jig u created & ur Radio Flyer wagon rig is a great way to get it stretched out to dry..
