assalamualaikum & good day everyone
I'm going to show you how to restore the cracking sponsor and sleeve stripe for real Madrid home kit 2004.
methods:
1) boiling soap water (to remove the layered color first)
2) thinner (mainly to remove the glue only) for this kit
materials
1) boiling water + laundry soap
2) thinner for paint (I DON'T KNOW WHAT TYPE IT IS)
3) nylon sponge
4) wooden stool
5) stainless steel spoon
6) gloves for your hand (6 layers on the right & 1 layer in the left)
7) face mask for organic vapor

I got it from local suppliers here, in Malaysia. You should be able to get it from your country too, provided there's someone who's willing to design the stripe and print them.

DrJersey can Acetone be a good substitute for thinner?

Not sure because I never tried that. But it should give the same effect as thinner because, material wise it's more or less the same. The question is, which one is better and will give better results.. that's for you to find out

DrJersey one last question, what kind of soap do you use before adding the boiling water to to the pot? Is it powder detergent?

Yes I'm using powder detergent (for laundry purposes). Any kind will do, I think. But to be on the safe side, choose detergent for colored clothes
