Ever since learning about Iizuka almost dying during the development of Heroes while carrying the game design on his back, I can't help but see an "art imitates life" thing between him and Shadow who nearly died in SA2, spending those next few years trying his best to recover and figure out what the future of Sonic should be amidst a bunch of confusion from his surroundings.

Not giving Omega enough credit, in both Heroes and 06 he had enough common sense to know a greater threat was involve, and not attack Eggman.

@@lamarfll Right, but the issue is that in those cases Shadow and Rouge were around to temper him and the rest to defend Eggman for if he had acted out to attack. The issue for the scene here however that you're neglecting is that everyone is immobile from doing anything to defend the doctor as Omega can just kill the alien fodder first, then kill Eggman as the others would still be paralyzed. Not even getting into the fact they do eventually have cases where it seems as heard later in the battle they begin to lose their senses such as sight and probably hearing, but yeah regardless of the last one Omega can just multi lock on the aliens and Eggman at once which again it's really a hard write around as trouser said.

Maybe it's just me, but I could have also seen Omega taunting Eggman while he's frozen. Then when Omega humiliated him enough everyone could get unfrozen and stop him from outright killing him. Kinda like the stereotypical James Bond villain stuff.

On agreeable Sonic villains, I'm here for immortality of the world and possibly hopefully myself, even if it is while under the regime of underworld soldiers and an extremely hot goth elf queen. Maybe that last part is the important part, come to think of it. Yeah, uh, down with Sonic, Merlina, know it doesn't apply to royalty, but she's got my vote! 👍

For as much of a mess the games plot is, I do genuinely like how Shadow stopped going on about Maria and/or his past for the last 19 years. Granted he didn't really have much to do after '06, but still there was some actually character development here.

During the final boss, Eggman mentions the gas wore off enough for them all to get back on the shuttle...but then it somehow seeped onboard and paralyzed them again.

Shadow kept using Chaos Control and accidentally tipped the Black Comet over, then everyone fell out.

15:16 Not to get to into this, but from what I've seen they agree with his point of "America is extremely corrupt and it needs to change" but stop agreeing because he also happens to have a "survival of the fittest" mentality, and people make the joke of "he was making too much sense so they made him a darwinist to get the player against him"

But the point they miss is that the people Armstrong is a stand in for don’t think America is corrupt and needs to change because it is infested with blood sucking corporate parasites (his nanomachines were built by the military industrial complex after all) but rather it needs to change because women still have some personal rights and black people aren’t being actively exterminated. Armstrong thinks Raiden is cool because he’s a lone wolf sigma killing machine who lives by his own rules but Raiden was turned into a cyborg against his own will and uses his power to fight against people being made like him. He sees his trauma riddled life of violence as a living hell that no one should be forced into, but Armstrong is a rich piece of shit who was above the law even before he got nanomachines so for him violence is just a grand old time that everyone should enjoy.

Even though this game has a really dumb story, annoying design, clunky mechanics, and is annoyingly edgy, I look back at it fondly. The story is so stupid that I just find it hilarious, and I always had a good time playing most of the levels. It’s a fun “shut my brain off” game.

I love this game, its level design, its structure, its aesthetics and its music. It's one of the best Sonic games, and Sonic games are generally actually quite good, among the better video games; Shadow is one of the best video games.

What is there to say about the Shadow game that hasn’t already been said? it’s awful, the controls are terrible, it’s structure & design is the most tedious & repetitive of all the 3D Sonic games, the soundtrack is boring, it’s really ugly & borderline incompetent on every level, the writing & story is laughable try hard & nonsensical at the same time, it’s just fundamentally flawed at its core. It’s one of the absolute low points of the Sonic franchise even more so than Sonic 06 I’d say, it’s bested only by Secret Rings & Free Riders IMO for the worst of the worst. The only things I can praise are the blur cutscenes & the Crush 40 tracks “I Am All of Me” & “Never Turn Back” as well as Magni Fi’s “All Hail Shadow”
