The most important part of this video is the intro, where Luke doesn’t offer any excuses for not grinding and just accepts responsibility. That mindset of personal responsibility will take you way farther in Rocket League and life than anything else in this video.

Unrelated but this just came to mind watching your overlay….do you think that your Rizzo bindings leave you at a very slight disadvantage as far as speed goes because you can’t really hold throttle forward when aerialing? I know it’s a very small amount of “boost” but at SSL I wonder if it makes a difference.

I've been to champ and back to diamond a minimum of ten times. I've gotten to c2 a couple times as well but now I typically just stay in c1. Been stuck for months. If I didn't drink while I play all the time id probably make some real progress lol

The reason champs go for half field shots imo is that in Diamond, a lot of players don’t expect the quick power shots from a distance and you can get easy goals off their over commits without dribbling skills. Obv falls off pretty quick in usefulness In champ.

Damn C3 seem really different compared to EU. Playstyle is way less agressive and players don't seem to be as mechanical as what we can see here from time to time. Way less chase for demo too.

@@Kerbex72 don't get me wrong, I didn't say it must be easier. It always seems easier when watching RL matches. I just found the gameplay drastically different and less toxic or les annoying to play against.

@@bstnlcge2662 It's just infinitely less pressure cuz everyone takes turns and does the most obvious simple rotations ever. And the minute you try to do anything but the most obvious simple rotation, they get very lost. They trade that pressure on the enemy for a lot more full boost solo controlled possession plays. They literally think the diff between Champ and GC is how often you choose to keep controlled possession of the play. (they put almost no accountability on the team as a whole, and think of everything as individualistic ability... (Very USA influenced oriented mindset. Selfish. No idea what it means to think and move like a team.) It's really boring and predictable. And the winner is whoever has the best solo play maker on the team. You should try it. I could write books on the differences. It's very apparent to me. And I personally hate having to play in NA ever since the youtube gurus became popular infecting the entire community with this theory of play.

@@thaddeus1519 Thanks for the input. So they basically just do what I call ''scholar'', large back post rotations and never adapt to the situation, just like it was in EU a year ago or so. This is indeed the best way to stay stuck in champ forever. They also tend to play according to what the ball is doing instead of what is happening on the field including opponents and team mates. I find that EU gameplay or meta is more and more oriented towards fast, mindless ball rushing and demo chasing. Players seem to try to play ''fast like the pros'' without the game sense or mechanical skills required to play that way. It is very annoying and quite boring to play game like this tbh. Not hard, just boring, because nothing really happens except monkeys chasing every ball, hard challenging on everything and going for aerials as soon as the ball pops up in the air, regardless of what is happening, getting punished instantly if you're patient enough to let them miss or do a bad infield pass to the opponents. The sad thing is that kind of gameplay often works against opponents not fast enough or with insufficient ball reading or anticipation skills.

ALSO, NA think they are not ball chasing when their entire play style revolves around trying so desperately hard to hold the ball... IMO it's ball chasing when you arnt moving in a way that allows you to move the ball to your tm8 on the field every chance you get. Or it's ball chasing when you don't ONCE think about cutting on the ball and getting a weak touch just to force the enemy to have to go chase it and stop them from geting their boost etc. But for language purpose we can call it ball hogging so the diff play styles can be distinguished. It's a team game act like it. 🤮

Right, he remains calm and plays extremely simple because his rank is infinitely higher than champ so there is no threat for him in these lobbies. Spook didnt play top tier however, his play were damaging yet simple. He used double jump shots and got away with them. This goes to show how simple shots can give great results. My tm8s in gc over complicate their shots even when they are in a 1v1, play simple and smart no need to show off ur skills

Yup, his positioning was ideal except for the two goals he conceded. He correctly analyzed his mistakes. However he was “forced” to play that way do to how his teammates were slow to leave and made the mistakes they made. I see it all the time, you try to cover the position and the play your teammate wants to make which can put you in a bad spot.

Practice clearing the ball from your goal at the other team’s net. If possible don’t let the ball hit the ground. This will help your defense and shot power and placement.

I think this idea that there should never be two people on the ball, and that you cant move forward till someone is behind you even when the play is there is low iq. And it would be better for the game if we stopped spreading it like wild fire. There is so many more opportunities that can be seized and created if you play more situationally rather than strict rules like this. Plus the game plays like a boring predictable circle. Your enemy also knows what you're going to do too, its incredibly predictable. I actually hate running into solo q teammates who play like this.

What you’re missing is the mechanical skill needed to do what you suggest. Most champ players arent mechanical or fast enough to play on top of each other. The rotations suggested work quite well, (C3 here). If you play as he suggests its easy to win matches, wait for the opponents to double commit (like you suggest) and score a counter attack.
