War Thunder's Worst Autocannon

One of the least talked about tanks added with the new WT update is the Japanese CTWV RCV squadron vehicle. This is a wheeled IFV / Scout with an elevating sight and 30mm Bushmaster cannon. Unfortunately, the 30mm Bushmaster is not very good in this game, and this is only made more evident with a lack of anti-tank missiles.

I will say this with every video with the CTWV I’ve watched, but they really should’ve enabled the commanders sight to its full height of 8+ meters. It makes it really unique and gives it a reason for people to grind it. Also it’s funny. And for those saying it makes it unbalanced(somehow) it’s literally a giant beacon that just states “I am right here”.

@@humzaakhtar9208 yep, the low tier 2cm german flak (FlkPz I, FlkPz 38, SdKfz 140/1, SdKfz 222) all get inside a capture point a faster ammo resupply rate than their effective fire rate, allowing you to ultimately fire unlimited rounds as long as you stand perfectly still (or move slow enough to not stop the cap point resupply)

Thanks to the reloading of your used ammo mechanic in the cap points, plus how fast the SD.Kfz. reload speed of the ammo is, you replenish the ammo belts as soon as you shoot the 20mm. @@humzaakhtar9208

You really have to try this tank, its the FV4202 a british medium tank that is very modern for its br because its an early prototype of the chieftain, it uses the 20 pounder gun which is pretty good and its really fun (day 27)

Day 18 of telling spookston to play the IT1. its a ATGM launcher on the t62 chassis, it has decent-ish mobility, the turret is squished. You can hide behind cover and shoot ATGM over the cover like a gremlin and you overpressure tanks (tho it can be rare, but it does happen without you realizing) and its MG is really werid. Also it has a cool reload animation.

I personally have not had issues with thr 30mm but it def is a challenge to use. Liek you said the other bushmasters work great but the 30mm is wonky. I want to see you re-review the new upadated 2S38 and PUMAs after that got all the new updated internals. They feel a lot more balanced now, still not perfect but a lot better. Also a video on the new custom sights and your thoughts on them would be cool to see.

Yeah no. The worst autocannon must be on the BMP-3 (BR-wise). Slow rate of fire, horribly innacurate and terrible APDS...and constant uptiers. The saving grace of the BMP-3 are the missiles which make it usable.

The rate of fire isnt that terrible, 330 rounds per minute is still better than every Bushmaster (201 rounds per minute). Everything else is right though.

@@bzorf5984 It's not that bad across the board...however compared to other BMPs it's really bad. It doesn't get darts for some reason which is another problem and the belts are 1 HE round every 3 APDS rounds...which makes aiming really annoying since the HE hits the ground and obscures your vision or tricks you into thinking you're aiming wrong. It also does no damage and screws you over. I think the CTWV RCV is really annoying to fight and downright broken in full downtiers. The spall liners make it absolutely random whether you kill it first shot or not. The Bushmaster is a really good autocannon at it's BR with the darts.

Maybe they'll fix HESH again by the time Spookston gets around to playing it. The round (at least the 105/106mm) is probably at its actual lowest point right now, after they seemingly tried to "improve" it a couple of months ago. Went from being fairly consistent severe damage if you aimed at the right spots to being very mediocre damage with honestly even less leeway it feels like. The HEAT rounds are now definitely the superior choice.

At about 2:00 "Whatever that thing is" looks exactly like the passive ECM suite attached to some HumVees and MRAPs that the USMC use. It's essentially a mobile cell phone jammer with a short range designed to defeat remote-detonated IEDs that use a cell phone as the detonator. But this being a Japanese vehicle, it could be damn near anything else. Hel, it could be a beacon to call for Gundam support from an orbital platform for all I know.

Hey Spookston, you should play the Stormer HVM. The starstreaks are kinda goofy but extremely satisfying to get aircraft kills with, plus it's able to kill light vehicles (especially with it's insane zoom, I believe the highest in the game).

Day 7 of asking Spookston to play the American M3 Load out; 1. Put the, M3 Lee, M3 Stuart, M3 GMC, M3A3 Stuart, M3A1 USMC, on one load out. 2. you get one life with each tank per round. 3. If you are feeling extra funny do the Grant 1 and M3 Lee load out (Get someone else to play the Grant or Lee too with you) 4. And if you get bored, torture yourself by putting the Bradley’s on the same load out as the first one and trying to see how well you do

Speaking from experience using a flight stick and joystick to control a tank is a great way to play the game. I recommend it (and setting your tanks tracks to brake when you hit rudder controls)

I remember being very happy that from the Christmas crate, I got the French IFV. But I was highly dissappointed in its capabilities. It's not only having to play with the Bushmaster, but IT'S A LITERAL FUCKING BUS AS A LIGHT VEHICLE. I'm just so happy they added the new squadron IFV, because I sure as hell will change that slot to that vehicle, even despite the VRCC having premium benefits.

Random unrelated fun fact: You can kill the T-10M and the T-62 tanks through the cupola with the 20mm autocannon from the Wiesel or the XM800. It'll take a bit of time to do since you need to hit it at an angle that the shell bounces inside to kill the rest of the crew but this is the easiest way to permanently disable the roof HMG on both. If you've got the high ground you can straight up shoot into the turret and kill everyone inside in seconds though
