Spookston just doesnt understand aa radar planes etc. Hes complaining how drones dont show up on radar cause of altitude, but thats true for planes too. And the drones have always rendered for me even when im on the ground. Gaijin made the furthest lod model MUCH bigger than the actual size of the drone to make it easy to spot. There is a reason his videos cut to right before he kills the drones, and doesnt show the fact the drones didnt render. Most aa at 9.7 and above can easily kill the drones, assuming you dont rely on radar to look around. Its just like how in lower br with prop planes you have to actually look up to find the slow moving planes, its like that except at a higher br. I do agree they spawn way too close to the battlefield. However relative to the sp of planes i htink the drones are at a good spot now, as it costs more than most cas planes with a full payload. Tbh it seems like spookston and many other players once they get radar aa they seem to forget its a tool to help find planes/helis, not to be the only method to find them. I will agree I think drones are strong, and can result in revenge kills, but that will happen with normal planes and helis too, and if they remove planes and helis, people will just rush back in a vehicle to revenge kill. Idk why thats brought up so much, revenge kills happen in every game that you can die to an enemy player.

Now drones are like planes in arcade, they don't play smart at all just seek every single little opportunity for SP and juice it the hardest they can without regard to their vehicle, which I find hilariously dumb. There is no counterplay as there is no way to know if there's a drone above you (and no, I'm not checking every bit of sky in my matches, and if you think I should, I'd like to remind you that I'm playing GROUND rb.) but once you know cuz he killed someone, the other missile is probably going to kill someone else's before it gets killed. It's just dumb

I do agree drones should be spawned further away though, I think if they spawned far enough away that the time it take to get to an ordinance dropping point is the same as other planes. And given the drones speed it should be around where the close helipad spawn is.

That what I do to have fun, never play higher than 7.0 and you'll be fine. This update have been good by gaijin standard, not much bugs. Small buff and nerf for ww2 (tiger 1 and Ferdinand have now 700hp engine) The skink and the proto panther. Top tier seem to be a mess but I don't care anyway. This update was (for me) a steep forward no steep backwards.

Yesterday, even with an increase on the Predator drone SP to 750 I was constantly getting it without any effort (usually 2 kills) and also being murdered by them. Who the fuck thought this was a good idea? We have another class of vehicle that can attack you with impunity, they pretty much cannot be detected (I heard they can but I havent personally managed to) and are very very hard to kill, just what we fucking needed in the game. Helicopters were bad enough and these bumbling idiots decided to step it up with drones

they only time they can he detected is when theyre really low, your you can see them, but 99% of the time, they dont render in when theyre at spawn height (4.6k up) and usually you get smacked before you can see them

The smoke effect made the smokes on the Leo 1 even worse. When they changed how smoke volleys work and broke like french smoke dischargers they made it so that the smokes on the Leo 1 explode high above the tank that you can see the leopard under the smoke. Previously it was like semi transparent so it at least made it a litte bit harder but now the tank is basically completely visible. All you do is creat a giant "I am here" sign above your head that also blocks your third person view. Smoke looks worse too now the way it shifts around with the camera. The Scout drones are ok I guess the strike drones should be removed we dont need killstreaks in this game, we already have cas.

The issue for top tier is that the battlefields are tiny populated islands in giant empty worlds. There should be AI controlled air defence networks surrounding the ground maps that players need to evade.

One thing i really liked about this update was the ability to jettinson your secondary armament, like missiles, rocketpods, etc. But one thing that was forgotten is that gunpods are considered primary armament, so when you empty your gunpods you can't jettinson them (to be honest i don't even know if its possible in real life as well).

the inclusion of drones really feel like when they introduced helicopters to the game. Like, it was obvious from the get go that these vehicles would be problematic, even without playing them. When they dropped in the dev server, it was obvious that they were problematic, especially when you could spawn in directly at the begenning of a match with ATGMs. They tried to fix a lot of things, but the fundamental part of helicopters that makes it a bad addition (being that it's very unfair to get hitby a missile from 5km range, by a guy that you can't even see or fight against) is still present in the game. Drones are exactly like this. They are problematic, they always will be no matter how Gaijin think they can balance it out cause it will always be unfair in the way they function when in game. It's that kind of thing that looks cool in marketing briefings and in meetings and stuff like that, that can be used to heaviliy promote the game (like helicopters, night vision, and certain plane or tank models) but is just plain bad and doesn't make the game better. Gaijin keeps focusing on those gimmicky things to add to the game while some nations still don't have a full tech tree (for example France that is still missing the Navy part while being one of the largest navy with the most variety in the period that ships are taken out of (1920 - 1960 basically), some nations that still don't have aa top tier jet or top tier tank), that's just beyond me at that point. I'll go enjoy the lower BRs, thank you.

At least in arcade ground forces, all planes have lead indicators and all players can spawn planes for a limited time. Yeah, especially the part where a bunch of my game files corrupted, have to uninstall the game and reinstall it, then the launcher started downloading something new. Me, think this was going to fix the corrupted game files and the issue of any missions I try to enter (including test drive) being stuck on the loading screen indefinitely, I let it download. But, when I was 2/3 done... I ran out of disc space on my laptop and now I don't have the game anymore. Great.

The way attack drones are implemented at the moment is a significant, indirect nerf to SPAA. Like you said, they spawn above the FOV of most radars, and they're so easy to spawn that drones can just swarm the enemy team and knock out most of their AA, making CAS even more braindead. Can definitely see drones being spawned first to clear out enemy AA because of this. Well done Gaijin.

Cas is the worst part of the game. I started with planes then went to tanks. Pretty much every game goes. I kill a guy he revenge bombs me , i spawn in my plane dog fight and one of us wins. If i wanted to play planes i would have done Air RB.

I had a match on large sinai... where literally no one could spawn a tank, it was our team with about 11 drones, vs the enemy team with about 7 drones... we lost cause despite having no enemy ground to deal with, no one could make it to cap...

Here's the thing right, I get adding drones. Like they're modern day armament, and serve a purpose on the battlefield. But I don't think there's a way for them to be balanced for grb. Grb already suffers from CAS, it's a gamemode thats supposed to be tanks vs tanks, but CAS has a bigger impact imo than the tanks do. Recon drones, cool, sure. But I don't think you can add strike drones to grb under the guise of ''realism'' when there isn't infantry, at, or mines or anything like that. And those are things that I do not see being added, ever, to WT. I don't think there's anyway for strike dones to be balanced. IMO a better way would be to get rid of strike dones, move the recon drones to be able to spawn in with sp, and be able to mark a target / location for targeted arty, and once you mark you have to rtb or despawn.

No one’s really talking about how the A-10 got HVAP. The round is officially called PGU-13 Armour Piercing Incendiary, and yes, I know, it has an aluminum jacket, but you know what else has a Jacket? .50 BMG AP rounds. Hardened Steel Core with a Copper Jacket. So why don’t we call *that* HVAP? It’s not even the worst part that it is HVAP. Well, it sort of is because HVAP has Zero spalling. Not to mention it lost like 10mm of penetration, at 0 degrees, and you won’t be attacking at 0 degrees, no, You’ll be attack at 50 degrees of AOA, and angled performance on HVAP is just awful. And no, I’m not a “Muh A-10 user” who only relies on the gun, I actually use the Thermals+Mavericks, and I usually use the gun whenever I launch all my Mavericks.

When the update launched I tried to finish grinding out my top tier Germany I immediately stopped after 2 games and went to help my friend I was talking to who just started the game and all he had was a pz 2 dak and that was it. No one asked for drones and I'm never playing top tier so long as those drones are in the game.

For me personally, I think the best and most critical change they can make to strike drones is to move them up to 10.0 so there will always be Missle AA, lower there spawn altitude and move them further back so they don't spawn on top of the battlefield while being above the radar search pattern's. I'd still actually be ok for a spawn cost of around 600 sp as there not nearly as good as a loaded out strike plane, especially if they were to make these changes to there spawn location. The big problem rn is that the spawn directly above radar so it's impossible to spot them

As much as I fee the drones need work, never before have low to mid-tier been so much fun. All the lvl100s ran to drone spam and left actually balanced matchmaking for a relatively wide range under top-tier.

I think it's fine with the cost of 750SP. Players who have helis and planes will never pick the drones because they can do much better with the other air vehicles and people without air vehicles will pick them out of necessity if they can achieve that score.

And those scout drones, it was down to literally just me vs like 3 guys, but one just kept a scout drone above me and I could NOT hit it would a .50 cal, till I was hunted down and killed. They should limit the time those are allowed to be up, because their current flight time is over an hour!

while originally i was very skeptical about drones, i kinda got around to the idea when i realized EVERY player gets them without needing to grind, so esentially everyone got a kinda shitty CAS plane for free with the update However their balancing really soured it for me and it doesnt help that CAS was already so overbearing until now. Really drones would have been fine if the game had more AAA capable of killing them, and they didnt spawn at insane altitudes. Not every nation has Proxy fuse AAA autocannon vehicles, and even then stuff like the WZ and LVKV (if i remember correctly) dont even have radar to see them so they are esentially useless versus drones. Overall i think drones aren't the problem, it's the lack of options for killing air targets effectively is the problem. SAM sites do it really well, but stuff like Gepard, M163, Falcon etc are only effective if you are "responding" and ambushing planes and not "preventing" them like SAM AAA can. It's a fundamental WT issue that ive hated for so long, and now i'ts become even more clear that it IS an issue

Spawn the drones lower, make they weaker so just a couple mg rounds could knock them out, have them lit up on radar and mini map for a couple of seconds after spawn, make them have a limited time on field and finally make the strike drones more expensive. All and all they should be easily countered i mean its a drone not a jet it shouldn’t be able to reek so much havoc at best they should be precision weapons used to remove entrenched enemies from cap points or choke points one tank spawn at a time

Spotting for a squad mate in a strike drone is very powerful, i played a match with a friend yesterday and i spawned the drone, i spotted every1 for him on the map and he could get 16 kills very easily without dying.

I completely abandoned high tier Ground RB for now after few matches in which after 3 minutes half of the team is dead and other half is soaring 5km in the sky and being the only one on the ground you are targeted by three su-25k while single opponent on the ground is capturing all the points. Much fun. Much gameplay.

And if you’re wondering, every new naval addition is monumentally-mid. The only noteworthy vessels are the Andrea doria, which I’d love to weigh in on if anyone actually played them (they seem garbage), and the USS Alaska which made me realize that the “large cruiser” designation is appropriate considering how laughably weak it is to HE shells because there is no mechanic in the game to shelter your AAA crew within the ship until they are needed.

Well, I played at 9.0 Germany with a Leopard A1A1 (L/44) and the drones were like half of my team. By the time I got enough to spawn points to get into my BF-109 F-1 I use as CAS, I killed 2 drones that already killed 2 people each, and I've also noticed that bombs aren't working as much anymore

Theres a bug on the F8U-2 where you can't equip AIM9D because it requires the Zuni modification, which doesn't make sense because the loadout only consist of 4x AIM9D. I can't think of any reason why this bug occurs at all, like how in the world does other aircraft being added to the game breaks other aircraft, which resulted in speculations to pop around that it is an intentional thing so that the new SU25 will excel temporarily.
