Ground attack aircraft or CAS planes can be very annoying to deal with as a tank in War Thunder. Even if you spawn an SPAA, the CAS player can trade with you fairly easily. That's why it's actual ideal to use artillery like the Type 99 SPH, which can annihilate aircraft with proximity fused HE.

Yeah the same happened to me but i learned that you need to play sneaky as spaa against planes you shoot less planes but you kill more of them

@@lemanael8199 the theory is to hide whenever you can't shoot at them like you shouldn't search for planes in plain open grounds and instead stay near other objects like sheds, hills, or houses so planes either don't go for you first or have to do a fly by to search for you, either way enough time to spot and line up shots that would actually kill planes rather than just pepper them

Shooting something and not hitting paints a huge target on you, especially with 2 or 3 planes in the air where the others can come from the other direction and strafe you. Not shooting gives roaming CAS that doubt that you might be looking at them and are just waiting for them to come for an easy hit. Different story for missile AA.

@@luthfihar3211 exactly this. i like to play fighters in GRB and hunt CAS, but as soon as there's no more enemies in the sky i'll start to look down in open fields near the enemy spawn. almost a garuanteed 2-3 kills on spaa that are just sitting there that i would definitely not get if they hid somewhere since im as blind as a german main

I liked the Type 75 but I absolutely adore the Type 99. I've had so many absolutely insane carries with that thing. Especially since it gets L15A2 with nearly 15Kg of TNT equivalent. Not that puny OE F3 of the VIDAR with only 9Kg. The suspension dampening is really good and in combination with the fast gun elevation the gun feels like it has a stabilizer. Combined with it's decent mobility it's probably the best artillery vehicle in the game.

I mean Gajin does give all the AA proximity rounds. You know, the vehicles that are meant to fire shells at ground targets from long range. Which for gameplay purposes isn't a bad thing as most AA sucks between these tiers. (Except for Russia and Germany's. Imagine that)

There countries like France and the US that have no mid tier AA. For France they have no early tier AA now that is effective.

@robertharris6092 The French tractor actually gets 14.5s a slightly larger round. Though a severely reduced ammo and turret speed. The Gepard is better as a TD apparently. Considering how most people use it. Japan you'd think would have more Anti-Air being an island nation and kind of needing something to be located around the island. Or at least something lend lease in the cold War. Then a lot of countries just have mid tier gaps. Except for one, Russia. Pretty much all of its Br gaps are full in some way. Even if they aren't good.

The G6 has an ok VT shell but it's nowhere near as good as the Type 99 VT shell and on top of this the Type 99 doesn't get fucked over by a limited turret traverse.

I love prox. The 2S3M is probably one of the best proxy tanks in the game because it's at a BR where you only see WW2 props, which are a lot slower and easier to track. Oh, and video #72 asking you to play the T-10M

There was an F9F Panther that in 1950 was fitted with the experimental Emerson turret, which housed four .50 cal. machine guns replacing the forward nose. I wish that would be in the game.

The regular Panther had 4x20mm. I'm not really seeing the utility of replacing those with 4x.50. As an aside the Soviets built 23mm gun pods (SPU series) that could depress for strafing ground targets.

I started playing as an air main and recently got into tanks. I usually play my own little game of air rb playing CAP and the CAS players get super mad because “just let me get the easy ground kills” or something. I enjoy watching the panic set in on a cas player who thinks they’re pretty decent at planes once I reverse then from a merge before they have time to think or drag them into a rolling scissor, and even when I reverse energy trap them and they compress into the ground.

I swear.. due to my general play style, I tend to play passive. And I love SPHs in which case a fair amount of the time, I end up getting more air kills than I do ground and I find it hilarious. One match I got more air kills than spaa. Type 75 SPH was really good imo, but Type 99 is very quickly becoming my favourite lol Love your content, and I find it very enjoyable and funny to watch!

The type 99 is like the perfect sweet spot between the ridiculously high fire rate but low ammo of the bkan and the turreted but long reload m109. It has a good reload time, a turret and a decent amount of ammo.
