Same. I am a couple days older then Jade. I think she was born 2 days after me and I haven’t yet had any baby. I want to start trying this year but I have endometriosis so I’m not sure if it’s possible. But her announcement made my baby fever even worse.

My biggest advice is if you find sheets or blankets tou really like grab 2. They go through so many of them and you're constantly washing them. Also the sheets will fit the crib and toddler mattress because they are the same so you'll be able to use them for a few years. Congratulations you guys!!!!

My midwife gave me the best advice ever on dressing my baby; she said whatever layers we wear, baby needs 1 more and always they lose their warmth through their little feet and heads so lots of cute Halloween socks and beanies for lil man.

Ghoul, as a mumma of 2 (they're 6 and 11 now) I can guarantee you're doing amazingly. Baby gremlin will arrive and you'll figure it out. Like all mums. I’m sure you’ve already had a million responses but my babies do wear long sleeve onesies in summer because air conditioning is cold! I put them in long sleeves pants socks and then swaddle them. Ironically they hardly wore any super warm clothes in winter, because the heater is always on and they were too warm indoors 😂 Love the spooky baby hauls 🖤

Snaps were not a problem for me. I'm old school and all we had were snaps. I found it easier to keep the upper half clothed while changing her diaper. When you have to take the whole outfit off just to change a baby they get cold and will cry cry cry throughout being changed. Just my experience. However the double zipper may be easier out of it all. Oh I loooove your haul!!!! Your spooky gremlin is going to be decked out in style. My favorite is the skeleton outfit. I have a thing for skeletons. My house is decked out with them. Heheheh

The best book for new parents is “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”. It’s continually updated with the most important info and was my Bible during my 3 pregnancies. I also loved “What to Expect the First Year.” And I don’t know if it still holds true, but baby clothes sizing used to run either larger or smaller than the tag size, so you won’t know your gremlin’s size until you try clothes on him (regardless of his age). You have a good start with baby stuffs so far! And I can’t wait to see the nursery design you create!

Eh, there’s a lot of good info in that book but some of it should be taken with a grain of salt. You can really give yourself a complex if you take that book as gospel. They make promises like “you’ll soon know what their cries mean” about the different kinds of cries… y’all, it took me three kids to suss that out. The recipes were kinda weird when I had my oldest. They had me making her a first birthday cake with ground up raisins and stuff… it really wasn’t that serious, any tiny cake would have been fine, it’s once a year, but like a schmuck I made this foul little cake for her. Also, they give advice like “Take 30 minutes to go soak in a bath and let your partner watch the baby” like that was gonna be enough to save your sanity! All the recommendations for mental health breaks were like that, spa, nails, massage, all of which I hate. Jade might not, though, come to think of it… Anyway, it’s a nice reference, very helpful for colic (though my oldest responded to absolutely nothing they suggested) and the like, and good childproofing info.

Yes, zips all the way! Also the ones that look like nightgowns are awesome when babies are little bitty and changing diapers are frequent, boy girl, it dont matter. Snaps on open legs are the main way those come, but the pjs with legs...zips all the way. Another tip nobody told me until after my baby wasnt a baby anymore is those onesies with the funky overlapped shoulders are to roll the outfit off their shoulders and DOWN their body instead of trying to navigate a blowout situation over their head, lol. Get a few outfits you would love to get a picture of baby in but dont go nuts on each size because babies grow like little weeds and wont stay in a size long. I personally kept my baby in pj onesies and no legged onsies almost always, it was a rare moment to put him in separates. Ah, I am just so excited about this baby!
