My wife showed me this song years ago when we got together. She loved driving around with me places bumping music and singing. She passed away in august. My first Christmas without her. Hardest day I've had in a while. Just reminiscent and listening to her favorite Playlist in her phone. Hard fucking time right now.

This was very of the time when it came out. That cloud rap and "alternative" r&b thing was big around this time. A lot of people were coming out with some sad R&B bangers with this vibe. And not that it was a bad thing, 2012-2015 was a good period in music when we werw getting shit like this.

For some odd reason I love everything about this, his goofiness, his 90s style, the fact that his voice doesn't match him whatsoever.. everything about this is awkwardly perfect. I mean, the man is wearing fucking Fubu and I love it.
@DOOMGENERATION9 жыл бұрын
Alexis Armstead Absolutely agreed. He stands out so much and I love that he does things his own way. I'm 32 years old and I'm so happy to finally see a new real underground movement flourishing again, I've really missed that. What amazes me the most is how he sounds so black plus his voice sounds so "old" and timeless, not at all the voice of a late teen. He's magical.

This sounds VERY ahead of it’s time. Sounds like if it came out in 2017 or 2018 it would blow up and get a bunch of features. From the production to the the voice to the name, to the music video style, this is wayyyy ahead.

Damn you can’t even imagine guys all the nostalgic emotions that I feel listening this song again... I used to spend my teenage drunk nights walking in the city with this song in my ears thinking about death and now, about future and past, daydreaming about a better life... As a French person, i wasn’t able at the time to understand the lyrics, I was just letting my soul and my heart be carried away by the melodies, the voice and the atmosphere of the song. Now I understand the lyrics and I’m even more touched. I hope y’all good, I wish you all the best 🖤
