True that. The only problem i had with Doom64 is its ambient soundtrack. It is so sleep-inducing, that i can confidently call it "Anti-Doom". I literally fell asleep multiple times, playing it on the N64 back in the day. Can you imagine someone falling asleep while playing Doom? LOL Well, true story. I did finish the game eventually, playing it in small increments and switching with a friend. Other than that, the game was a blast.

I was actually expecting you to include The City of The Damned : Apocalypse, as it is still the first spooky mod that comes to my mind among others. It stands out of the crowd, I'm sure of that, and is one of the first Doom mods I'm gonna try out once I'm setting foot on the Doom-mod-land :)

Once upon a time I had the pleasure of reviewing Unloved, back when /newstuff still had active map reviewers. I praised it for its visuals, and it wound up winning a Cacoward (the Doomworld community's annual "Best of the best" in the modding community). There's a lot of stuff to kill on the higher difficulties, though.

I don't know if it was ever finished? But I remember playing a demo for a mod called S.U.P.E.Rnatural that I loved to pieces. It had this huge, sprawling hub world full of nooks and crannies to explore, notes to find, and a secret level that I never did managed to find. It did a great job at building this suspenseful and eerie atmosphere, as you wandered through this old military base and the surrounding wilderness, dodging these weird and unkillable monsters.

I'm mildly disappointed that you didn't even briefly mention that Alien Eradication's gameplay mod can be played with other Doom mapsets, where it has some devious surprises in store xp. Also kinda surprised you didn't at least briefly mention Mortis or Shut Up and Bleed, or any gameplay mods for that matter

Lasting light is really good doom 2 mod alternative for horror jumpscare amnesia like, and it's universal with all maps wad/megawad so you can play with your favorite doom map wads :)

Total Chaos was awesome, I played til after the first big boss, it just came at a time I was getting sick of FPS games and DOOM Mods, I had been bingeing mods for months, Golden Souls 2 also fell prey and I still haven't gone back and finished it... If you have a small part of yourself that is a masochist, and you like survival horror... Its amazing. EDIT: Also I just wanted to thank you for this vid, you've added a few maps to my ever growing list of DOOM WADs which I will probably never finish.

I think the Steam version of Unloved is worth a second look. I have been playing the heck out of it and it has become one of my favorite games. It has been regularly updated and I am guessing it has changed a lot for the better, for example the animation do not seem janky to me. Just a though. Although I agree, the super shotgun probably needs a buff.

Hey mr icarus I have a doom mod suggestion for you it’s a mod called slayers rampage, it takes elements from doom 2016 and I believe some elements of doom eternal it’s a really good mod you can play it with any map pack you choose, another on is called shadow hell it’s really dark and ominous it has a lot of monster variants not sure if it’s a single map or not but the gameplay is really fun
