Story 6. I have always told my daughter that adults don’t need help from children. So if a stranger comes to you & asks for help, for information or really anything, especially if a parent isn’t around, they’re dangerous. Adults can take care of themselves & if they need anything, they would ask another adult. They don’t need ANYTHING from a child.

I was told the same thing and was told to add that I can’t help, but maybe my mom/dad can when they get here in a few moments. I had to use this once when I was 9 and the dude walked away and kept walking, even though there were plenty of other people he could’ve asked if he really needed help.

The radio scare wasn't about WW3, it was a reading of the War of the Worlds, by H.G. Wells, and yes, even though they introduced the story, had commercial breaks and resumed the story, people still thought it was real and it caused panic.

Morgan, When I was pregnant my grandma passed away. We called her Grandma GeGe, she passed away from a heart attack. When my daughter was about 3 she said “mommy, my grandma gege says she misses you and loves us.” I said do you mean “your Mimi?” She goes “no mommy, my grandma with the bad heart and was sick!” I froze and got my phone out and showed her a picture of my grandma and I said “who is that?” She goes “Grandma GeGe!” I cried so hard. I will never forget that conversation ❤

@damont5487 I was one of those kids. No one told me the things about my grandma that I knew (her favorite cuss words, C**ksucking Mothergf**ker, and inappropriate stories for a baby) and we didn't have any pictures up of my grandma when she was old because she didn't like her picture taken. We only had pics up of her from when she was 20-30's, and the only pics of her older were from old photo albums that were in storage. I saw her as her 80 year old self until I was 6 years old. That was the last time I saw her but I still get signs from her a lot

Story 6 about stranger danger is SO important! My identical twin sister was talking to some sleazy guys before she found her husband and when I found out one of them knew where WE lived, I got so mad! I was like, “what if he comes here looking for you, and it’s just me here?! I look like you!” And normal situations can definitely take a turn for the worse. It so sad that we all have to think I’m worst case scenarios sometimes.

Omg story 6... In 1998 I was 8 years old living in Houston, I was walking my dog in our little subdivision that bordered our local mall. I only went in a two block radius at that age. A man in a maroon Taurus drove up to me with his window down and a map stretched out across his lap and asked me directions to the mall. As I stepped closer to tell him how to exit the subdivision, I noticed his full penis laid out on the map. I screamed and my dog and I ran home. My parents called the police and I had to describe him to a sketch artist. Never found him. It's a crazy fucking world out there.

People are so sick. I had a very similar experience. I was at a bus stop and a guy in a car stopped asking for directions but I could only understand “do you know how I can get” because the rest was not clear, I stepped closer asking him to repeat. He mumbled again and waves at me to get closer, I do. And he starts massaging/ jerking off and says “you want some d…” I was a teen

Lots of paranormal stuff happened in that house growing up particularly that room which ended up being my room. If it’s an explainable phenomenon that’s fine, but the potential is beautiful.

@silvsevie
@silvsevie Жыл бұрын
@@TwoHotTakes no, they worked in the same building and she asked around about him and discovered he had our grandpa's last name as well. Then one day after he realized, she was looking into him and her name, he approached her and was like "I am your uncle". He knew all about us, my grandpa had him with a mistress because he wanted a son, and he had three daughters with my grandma. He was a recognized son, meaning legally my grandpa was in the birth certificate an send him money and spend time with him in secret during his life. He kept him a secret from all the family and all his friends, his whole life, and my poor uncle knew his whole life he had 3 older half sisters, who he was supposed to never contact. Even in his funeral my grandpa prohibited my uncle to attend, "so my grandma, mom and aunts weren't hurt", but left him a portion in his will. (can you imagine your own dad asking you to not attend his funeral, totally dismissing your need to mourn) eventually it all came to light, and it was so weird at first but he is an amazing person, and we really love him. He is a lot younger that my mom and aunts, and a bit older than the oldest of us cousins(I'm the second to youngest cousin and there is like a 15 year age range difference with my uncle). We go to karaoke, for meals, concerts and dancing all of us. and he has a young daughter that is now the youngest cousin. My uncle felt kind of lonely and abandoned all his life and he really wanted family and now thankfully we have him and he has us. All in all it is a super happy story, because this random guy that looked like our grandpa, is now such an important part of our lives and we even got a new cousin we love as well. It's weird because it changed how we see our grandpa, and we can't ever even get to ask for an explanation. so it's weird mourning someone when you can't help being angry at them, someone you loved and thought you knew so well and now everything feels tainted. and you feel guilty for feeling that.

I recommend against using sage to cleanse. It just neutralizes energy and leaves a vacuum in the space so anything will come in; including negative energy which is what you're trying to get rid of. You're better off to smoke cleanse with rosemary, cedar, juniper, or dragon's blood because they will push out the negative energy and then fill the space with positive energy. You can also cleanse with sound, like with wind chimes or a singing bowling. I've also used simmer pots too. The main thing is intention and forcing everything you don't want out.

story 5 is eerily similar to a story my mom told me. when i was 3 we lived in our old family home that belonged to my great grandmother before she died (she passed before i was born). my mom said she used to carry me around the house showing me pictures and having me point out who was in them. we had a photo of my mom, my grandma (her mom), and my great grandma together. so apparently, 3 year old me named my mom, my grandma, and then named my great grandma despite never meeting her. when my mom asked how i knew her, i apparently told her i had seen her sitting on my bed in my room the night before. my grandma always said she was my guardian angel, and now i’m 21 and a practicing pagan witch and i have confirmed through divination that she is, in fact, a spirit guide of mine. it’s kinda heartwarming, and a little creepy, but still sweet to think about.

PSA: Teach kids to look for strange behavior rather than focus on strange adults versus familiar adults. Strange behavior: * Asking to keep secrets from a child's safe adults. * Offering to take a child somewhere that a safe adult didn't tell them about (hospital, ride home, police station, etc.) * Asking for help (safe adults ask for help from authorities, not children) * Asking or taking a child somewhere private. Adults have no reason to be alone in private with a kid outside of medical environments. There's a lot more obviously, but it does no good to cause children to fear strangers when life is about interacting with strangers from a very early age. Teach them to focus on the behavior and it doesn't matter if the adult with strange behavior is a stranger or a known adult. The important thing is to arm kids with knowledge of when to alert a safe adult.

My grandma was so close to my youngest before she past last year. He was 7 when she past. We told him she past and went to heaven but then he had questions about her body and we explained a little bit about the burial. While they were out to eat and talking about her he stares past my mom and says grandmas not dead she is in heaven she told me right now. I can hear her. She says she ok and healthy with papa! He was really struggling with her death before that and after he was so happy! I totally believe she came to comfort him. Before she past she would always say how scared she was to leave him and how he would cope. I am so happy she came back to him to prove to him she is ok.

My grandmother died of cancer when I was about 2 years old and my mom told me that after her death I would wake up in the morning and tell her that I talked with grandma. I then would go into detail as far as I could at that age and it kept going on for almost a year. Till this day my mom remembers this time fondly because she believes that her mom would come in order to make sure that we were okay. There were also two paranormal instances after her death that both my mom and aunt experienced. After my aunt died of cancer when I was 11 our dog would randomly start barking at one place till someone said "calm down it's just (aunt's name)".

As a former scientist, this is how i see it: We acknowledge the existance of things we can both observe and explain, things we can observe but can't explain, and things we can explain but can't directly observe. Surely, SURELY things exist that we can neither scientifically observe nor explain.

Story 6: I don't remember where I heard it but I really like teaching strange behavior vs stranger danger. More times than not grooming and people who are hurting children are adults the children know. Granted also this story can happen, and good on the OP for recognizing the strange behavior of an adult insisting they need a child's help. Adults 👏 never 👏 need 👏 a 👏 child's 👏 help 👏🚩🚩🚩🚩

Morgan asked if would you sleep in a cemetery. 😅 In the Philippines, there are people LIVING in the cemeteries. There were even parcels being delivered to the cemetery! 😂 I used yo go to a school next to a cemetery, and on higher floors, you’d literally see the families sleeping on top of the graves. They live normally, we see them cooking in there too 😂

Don't forget people who picnic in them too. And in my country, we bury in our homes. Kenyan kids see graves and think nothing! Behind my maternal grandmother's house is maybe twenty graves we farmed, picnicked and played around. Next to my paternal grandmother's house are ten graves and hers was the most ornate we played board games on and laid out grains to dry.

It's also really important to note on the last story that stranger danger is a moral panic and kids (and the rest of us) are much much more likely to be hurt by someone they know!! Especially that 'sex trafficking' has become a new moral panic I think it's important to remember while it is important that kids know not to be careless with strangers, there are a lot of hoaxes out there...

31:00 War of the Worlds broadcast, but ironically, a lot of historians say that the actual “panic” was overblown by newspapers, possibly an attempt to undercut radio, which was their main media competitor

My husband died six months ago. For a few months after he died, my daughter told me a little boy ghost was watching over her and keeping her company, and updating her on how her daddy was doing. My car radio keeps turning on at random times, always with songs that have a meaning to me. It's turned on to play Never Can Say Goodbye, Only the Good Die Young, Another One Bites The Dust, A View to a Kill, and some songs that have personal meanings between my late husband and I. One came on the other night and I said out loud "okay I get it" and it switched back off. I'm convinced it's him communicating with me.

I relate to Alejandra seeing her grandpa SO MUCH!!! My Grampa looks EXACTLY like the comedian Matt Rife and it freaks me out every time I see him pop up on my feed. It's nice to see that his doppelgänger has a good sense of humor.

story 5 literally happened to me! when i was a baby just starting to talk, it happened a few times (not that i can remember personally) where i told my parents, "grandpa kissed me!". my mom took out a photo album and showed me both her father and my dad's father and i was able to, as a baby, point out and recognize her father as the one who visited me. grandpa's on both sides had passed at this time. but i was the new baby and grandpa wanted to meet me!!! :')

Hey gals! I’ve been watching THT for a while and I love that Lauren and Alejandra are both here! Yay! 🎉 So in regards to the discussion on delivery Drivers and safety, think of it this way: we (as I am one for all 3 of the top delivery driving apps) are just at risk coming to your house to deliver. Probably more so myself being female. I can’t say much for cab drivers but for my own safety, I carry pepper spray amongst other things, and I don’t deliver in unsafe neighborhoods. I’m always holding my breathe a bit if I have to deliver to a truck stop (sometimes I don’t realize it until after I look at the address after picking up the food). I try to mostly deliver before dark, but that’s next to impossible in the fall/winter seasons. It’s a choice to make extra money, sure, but just so you know you can always report a driver if you feel they’ve been inappropriate and/or you feel unsafe. As for me, I’ve never had any customers make me feel unsafe but as a woman here in the Midwest, you know we can never truly be unguarded these days. Please stay safe! Love the podcast! ❤
